We have a Doberman dog which is 6 months old. We got it just 3 months before. We loved the pet and had a great time. But three days before the dog was furious on my 2 and a half year old son. I do not know what happened. He misbehaved with my son and was about to bite him.But luckily since we were near them we could push of my son. But we cannot assure the same thing all day long. So we have decided to move the pet from our home to my friend's. Though we may miss him, we do not know another way.. Have you ever moved your pet to someone else? How did you feel after the pet moved away?

I'm sorry, it would be bad to move your pet out, i can understand but it did diserved it to be honest. I had move a cat somewhere else before i moved where i am because he didnt want to move with us, cats don't like moving lol... he ran off at first to someone's garden not wanting to move and we found him and decided to give to a friend, then we moved but after about a year or 2 we went to visit, we havnt visited him in a while now. I do miss him aswell but we have a new cat which i am happy with :). hopefully you can see him but if he wont nearly try bite ur son :S.

yes, giving away the pet is something that breaks our heart. Since we are moving the pet to my friend's home only, we have planned to visit the pet once in a week.An you know my son is also missing the pet and he was searching for the dog all around the house.

I really don't trust Dobermans. I'd rather have a German Shepherd or a Labrador. I heard when Dobermans bite, their jaws get locked up before they could even realize that it's their master they're biting. Is that true?

I'm sorry to hear this. You do have to be careful with Dobermans in general. It's all about training. We've never had to give up a pet so I don't know how that feels to run out of options.

Did you or anyone in the house play or in any way roughhouse with the dog? Sometimes, if there is too much play, the dog might stop realizing the difference between play and regular attention. Also, a dog might start reacting to cues that are the same as, or similar to, those that are used in play. The dog will see what he thinks is a cue and respond to it. Usually dogs know their limit when it comes to playing with their humans, but sometimes dogs do not know who it is wrong to play with.

yes, that is true. But I do not think my son misbehaved with the dog.He played with the pet as usual. May be as you siad, the dog might have not realised it as a regular play.
