We had a traditional roast with red potatoes, carrots, onions, 1 can of french onion soup and 1 cup of beef stock. Cooked in the crockpot. It was delicious! we hadn't had a roast in forever. I found a nice big roast on sale at Food Lion so I cut it in half (it was only $6.35) so we will get two meals out of it.

I really miss Food Lion. Now that I'm out west, they don't have them here. We've got the obligatory Safeway, a local chain called Basha's that is quite good (Milk is 1.87 a gallon), and a Kroger's about 20 miles away.

OH YUMMY!!! I love beef roast with red potatoes, carrots and onions. I do not use the onion soup mix though. It is loaded with MSG and I am alleric to MSG. Was the potatoes, carrots and onions from your garden?

That sounds good. I don't have a crock pot, in act I'm never at home when I'm ungry,
I had an egg salad wrap at The Second Cup, and a brownie, topped off with a cup of coee in each hand.

Oh I couldn't live without my crock pots (yeah I have more than one lol). I make all kind of things in them. I do my black eyed peas and hamhock (we are having this tomorrow with green chili corn muffins), meatballs, roasts, chicken, spagetti sauce all kinds of stuff. I put everything on in the morning and by dinner time it is ready to eat!1 person likes this
