Left handed politicians

Did you know that we will probably have a left-handed President elected in November? Both McCain and Obama are left-handed. Bill Clinton and Bush Sr are both left-handed, as well. Reagen used both his left and right hands when he was young, but went to the right hand later. Someone said he once slapped Angie Dickinson in a movie with his left hand which is something only a left-handed person would do. Other left handed Presidents were Gerald Ford, Herbert Hoover, Garfield, and Harry Truman. Do you know anymore left-handed politicians?

I remember very well how in 1992 all of the candidates, Clinton, Bush and Perot were lefties and since I'm left-handed myself I thought that was quite cool. I didn't realize that both Obama and McCain are lefties. There must be some connections here, we lefties must be pretty special after all...lol! (I'm joking, just in case anyone decides to attack me here!) Annie

Annie, I think it's neat. My daughter doesn't mind being left-handed at all.The one thing she did mind is that Mom wanted to do the right thing and I bought her a left-handed paper pad once. MAN, she pitched a fit. She said I don't need that. I write just like you, and she does. Most lefties turn her hand around but she writes just like I do with her hand just pointed toward the paper. Do you write normal or like a normal leftie?

Thanks so much for the BR. I write the normal way, too, and so does my granddaughter. She's the first one in my family to take after me. Annie

Geez Annie, I knew I liked you! LOL I am a lefty also. I write normal also, which is not so good when writing on the chalk board as a teacher! I smear what I write as I go. (Let's face it, I've been known to smear ink and pencil lead also.) Some lefties turn their hands on a strange angle so that their writing follows their hand, like it does for right handed people. I never figured out how to use a pair of lefty scissors either! I just use the regular ones but hold them a little differently. It is funny there is such a large amount of left-handed politicians, in the last several years. I have four kids, and none of them are left-handed, but I have nieces and nephews who are.

I don't really pay attention if they are left handed or right handed. I just care if they do the job they promised the tax payers.

I never knew that, that's pretty cool. Thanks for sharing. My son is left handed, now I can tell him he's in good company.
