Do you like to buy gold jewelery or junk (artificial) jewelery?

Whenever i go shopping i prefer to buy junk jewelery as it is cheap and funky. Moreover if its lost one does not feel bad. I hardly wear gold jewelery as it is kept in the locker and when am going to attend a party i don't feel like going all the way to take it out from the locker. What about you- do you prefer gold jewelery or artificial jewelery?

Hi karj, I don't have a lot of jewelry this time but I prefer gold and real one! That's why I can't buy often..LOL! I received some artificial from my friends during birthdays and special occasion and I don't wear it actually since I will have some allergy! LOL!

well i don't really have a choice in this. i'm allergic to almost everything. so i can only wear either platinum, pure gold or pure silver. although i can take plastic too, i don't really like the feel or look of plastic accessories. pure gold is too soft to make any pretty designs. silver tarnishes easily so i don't have a lot of silver jewellery. i'd like to wear more jewellery but platinum doesn't offer too much choice either. cheers ;p

i always buy cheap fashion jewelery because as you say, it is more funky looking and different colours to match what ever you wearing and also the big factor is, if do loose it, can easily replace without feeling too upset :D i am fortunate to be able to wear cheap ear rings, as i know some people can not as allergic to cheap metal and so the ears get weepy.. I love the big dangle ear rings of different shapes and colours for the summer

My mom thinks the same way. She tells me not to spend much on artificial jewelery instead she insists on gold jewelery as investment. Thanks for the response.

I love sterling silver so much tht I taught myself how to solder and work with the metals. I like gold but silver always looks so good on people...seems to brighten everyone that wears it. Junk jewelry is good too. I have done some interesting stuff with wooden beads and leather. I love beaded jewelry too. You can see some of my simple earrings at http://www.verasgirl.com/verasgirljewelry.htm I have a lot more that I have made and if interested, I will upload it for you to see. I love making it and it is pretty much just a hobby so I don't rob people when I sell it.

You seem to be a very talented person. I wish even i had this kind of talent , then i could have designed jewelery for myself. Thanks for the response. Have a nice day.

I prefer junk stuff, as you can buy alot more of it and use it to match clothing. But if you buy expensive gold stuff then you don't have many choices to match your clothing with, unless your super rich of course.
