Did you know the average American eats as much as 2 pounds of insects a year? Most of which is has "found" their way into processed food. The FDA guidlines for what is acceptable turns my stomach! -One Maggot or five fly eggs per 250 mils of citrus juice -Sixty (yes 60) insect fragments or one rodent hair per 100 mg of chocolate. (Makes you think twice before you wolf down that Hershey bar doesn't it?) -225 (no, my finger didn't stumble on the 2 key) insect fragments or 4.5 rodent hairs per 225g of macaroni. (Mom's homeade mac-n-cheese isn't sounding that good anymore!) I was just totally grossed out when I happened to come across that article. And just think, some people think we use TOO MUCH pesticide! HAH!!! Let them bite into that crunchy chocolate bar only to realize when they look at the wrapper, it's not Hershey's with almonds!!!!!

Mmmm! Just think about all that extra protein you are getting in your food! Lowfat and packed with protein! I did know about the bugs crawling in our mouths when we sleep and I did know that the FDA allows some rodent feces in grain, etc. I just didn't know the figures. Wow, well I guess it is not poisonous, but yuck! Have a great day and happy myLotting!

You eat that stuff everyday with your regular food. There is maggot eggs and fly eggs pretty much in every food item. Put fruit or meat in a jar so nothing can get in and see what happens. And btw, you eat on average two spiders a year in your sleep as they just crawl in your mouth and you happen to swollow.

Oh, I meant to add to put that jar with the fruit or meat item on the counter. It needs to be warmer for those things to hatch.
