My notebook has stopped booting.

I have a HP-Compaq V3424 au laptop.
It had stopped booting suddenly. when i press the power key the power lights turn on but nothing appears on the screen. The screen just remains completely blank, it even does not go 'on'.
I've read the manuals but nothing of the troble shooting procedures seen to work.
To shut down it I have to pull out the battery to cut power.
Please help me. Thank you.

i just want to suggest you to go to the costumer care. or you can try it from your bootable c d.

i've tried to boot it through my bootable cd's also. The cd's are read then they go still. Nothing appears on the screen and nothing seems to and doesn't happen.
any way I'am thinking to take it to the store on monday.

can you tell me when you put a bootable CD then if you restart your computer what message you see on your screen. it should be { "press any key boot from CD" }. if this appears on your screen you have to press any key.. of you laptop.
