Batman's 'Dark Night' Sets a Box Record!

According to the New York Times, the Batman's movie Dark Night sets a new weekend record in the box office with $155.3 million surapssing last years record of Spiderman 3 which has $ 151.1.
Some of us will think that the movie's success was due to the avid followers of the Batman series yet some would think that it is also higlighted by Heath Ledger's death prior to it's screening. I believe that it is both. But how about you guys? Do you believe that Ledger's death also contribute to the popularity of the movie? Or it has nothing to do at all because Batman movies has been successful ever since?

I don't like Batman, Superman is the best. But I think that you are right in saying that both of the two factors affect the success of the "Dark Night".
