i have a dog and have had him for a while and i named him happy whenever i first got him because he was so happy all the time and got along with everyone and really liked to play with everyone no matter who they were or what they wanted to do and he was just a happy dog overall...so i think that it was a good name for my dog...so what did you name your dog and how long have you had it...why did you name your dog that...please let us all in on it because this can be really fun depending on the names and the stories behind it...so please feel free to let us all in on it...thanks for reading my discussion!

When my dog was born, there’s a program in our local t.v that I really watched every night. It is a foreign show, I think from India the way the characters look. The lead character named Pino is really cute so I named my dog Pino and it seemed he likes it.

Our dog is a female purebred collie. She is tri-colored with black, brown, and white. We got her when she was just a ball of fur just over 7 years ago. We decided to name her "Lady". If she would have been a male, I would have wanted to call her "Lassie". Her full name is "Lady Dutchess of Oak Hill".

Well, I have four dogs. Bo and Raja was already named when I got them and those were good names, so I kept them. I try not to rename animals because I think of it like this, would you rename your child when they are a few years old? But, I got a rescue dog and his name was Danial and that was a bad name for a dog in my opinion, so I did rename him Piggy because he snorted all over my car when I got him. Oh, and he is a Beagle. Now my forth dog I got from the local pound and he is only 5 months old and only had a number, not a name. We did try a few names in the first couple of hours but they didn't seem to fit him. When I had the dog in the car and my son seen him after he got out of the car he told me that the dog was not real and looked fake and he left it at that and started with the name Lucky. Then my son seen how he was laying funny on the floor and said, he looks like a puppet, when my son was little he called stuffed animals, puppets, my son is now 15 and STILL calls them puppets. So my son looked at me and said that his name should be Puppet. So that is my little ones name, Puppet. Thanks for the question.

My dogs name is Saber. I got him as an early Christmas gift in 06 because my mom thought it would help cheer me up after losing someone really close to me and he sure did! I had a couple of name ideas lined up for him already but none of them seemed to feel or fit right but me and a few other family members were sitting around looking at him and saying names out loud and my dad said "what about Saber?" (like saber tooth tiger) and at first i wasn't so sure but then i decided that was going to be his name. I think it fits him very well because of his looks. He has sure a goof/loving personality though and I didn't wanna give him a name like "tiger" so that is how my doggy got his name. lol

I named our dog Lita, because it sounded like a nice name, and our other dog.. Pogo, because he was very hyper and would jump all over the place.

We got a corgi a few years ago. We named her Candy because we worked at Hershey Chocolate. Well, my husband got a new job working at Marathon Petroleum refinary. We adopted an out door cat and we named her/him/it Petro.

There is a new puppy here and they named her "pangit" which means ugly and sometimes they call her "bulingit" which means dirty face. She takes notice when she hears the word "ngit". I think she's a smart doggie.

Rusty - Our golden retriever
We have one dog which I bought for my husband about a year and a half ago. He is a golden retriever and we named him Rusty because of his color. He is an 80 pound ball of energy and will knock you down in his excitement to play with you. He is a good dog and smart, but really a handful for me.

Well I found Dagan on the internet under popular dog names. But I have never heard anyone call their dog that. We call him Chance though. That is the only thing that me and my husband could agree on.

We have three dogs, so I will take them one at a time. First, is Ginger; she is a part chihuahua/part pomeranian. She is 10 yrs. old, and weighs about 14 lbs. I call her Little Princess. Her name came from an internet friend of my daughter's whose screen name was Gingerfish. We just left off the fish. LOL Second is Scooter. He's my sweet baby boy. I just love him SO much. He is three yrs. old. He is a mixed breed - don't know which ones. I named him Scooter because he was this tiny little thing who seemed to scoot all over the place. Besides, my husband wanted to call him Brutus. I couldn't have that! Now, he is around 40 lbs. and is slightly psychotic. Last, but not least, is Karen. She is a purebred golden retriever, and she is 2-1/2 yrs. old. She weighs over 100 lbs. and will knock you over when she runs and jumps up on you! But, she is the sweetest, nicest dog you have ever seen. She was named after another dog we had who was named Karen. That name came from my daughter's favorite name. For a while, when she was younger, every doll she got was named Karen. She got the name from the Frosty The Snowman movie.
