OK before anyone gets too excited for me, it was not a big win but we won £20 ($40? I think) anyway if anyone had heard us they would have thought we had scooped the jackpot! But it was to us, we have not won anything on the lottery for so long that I just used to tell hubby to stop wasting his money, but his persistance paid off last night and we were £20 better off.
Hubby wanted to put it in our savings but I said that I did not want to do that, because we have been so frugal this year and we have put every spare penny away that we have had so really we should have a treat. So we had takeaway for tea as we have not had one for a while so it was nice.
What is the highest amount of money you have ever won on the lottery, scratch cards, bingo, or any sort of gambling?
How did you react when you won it and what did you do with it?

You know I've been trying this since College but I was not lucky yet until this time..I just stopped..LOL!
My Dad used to play the pick 3 and won like 8 times already...like twice a year! LOL! He is just repeating all those numbers..LOL!
The funny thing is, when he will bet big, he will not make it, but if he will bet small amount, he will get it..
The highest amount he won so far was $80! and he is betting everyday! LOL!
Anyway, he loves it, so it's fine with the family!

once in vegas i won $750. on 4 quarters in slot machine. i was so shocked i didnt say much except to brag to hubby when he came by. which made me laugh at the goofy girls who would scream when they won $ 5. worth of quarters. (my bad)

The highest amount of money i ever won was when i got four numbers on the lottery.
We won £101 which really did come in useful as we were going away on holiday just two weeks after the win. It could not have come at a better time.
So i put it towards spending money for the holiday.

I suck at the lottery. Now as for my husband he is the luckiest person I know. He won 1000.00 a few years ago. Then about a month ago he won $500 on a scratch off. He used it to fix his credit report(credit repair lawyer). We could buy 2 tickets and I always get the loser.

gemini,congrags to you on your win. Anything that you win is better than nothing, and it is so exciting to win something. We have no lottery here where I live. Our state will not allow it. I wish that they would. But when I go out of state I play every now and then. The most I have ever won on a scratch off was $10.00.

Congratulations! WInning is always great!
The most I ever won was $60 from the slot machine once. I think I used the money to pay bills because I was dirt poor at the time. I usually try not to gamble because I haver terrible luck. Winning is always exciting!!
I've never actually played the real lottery though. I won $5 on scratch and win tickets once.

Well, the highest winning that I have won from the lottery was around 600pesos. That is around $13 U.S. That is quite small if converted into your currency. But it somewhat good enough to treat my family to a wonderful meal in a good restaurant. That is exactly what I did. Well, I do not buy lottery all the time, so it kind of nice to win. Regardless how much, its great to win! Best to you!

I think it would be about £7.00 in our money, not enough to take a family out for a meal in my country, but great for you that was lovely. We buy lottery every week, we dare not now, knowing our luck we would stop and our numbers would come up!!

gemini--rose the most I have got on anything lately was that package that bush sent to all of us, for my share I got 300 dollars which I have spent part of on food, and groceries and eating out, and the rest is still in my bank account. lol
I am not lucky at all so never win, well I did make twenty dollars once and spent ten in getting mylunch in Red Robin cafe. it was a really nice meal too.

I hope You will not humiliate me if I say that Luck is almost in front of your doorstep. I foresee, very shortly You may win a Jackpot. Purchasing lottery is not a bad habit. Of course we must purchase lottery. Until unless we participated in contest, we cannot win a Jackpot. We don't know when the Luck is favoring us. But one thing you must bear in your mind is that do not spent more than a fixed amount on Lotteries. BEST OF LUCK.

We won about $50 once. Sadly we spent far more than that on the tickets leading up to the win, and we ended up using all the money on more tickets that we didn't win anything with. Luckily we quickly got out of that phase.

First off congratulation with this win. Don't it feel Good to win something back from these once in a while? Usually, it is never as much as you put into them, but every little bit sure helps. And it does feel good to win something for sure.
Back at least 5 yrs. or so ago, I hit a decent winnings on a Scratch ticket. It was for a Camaro gift package of items, including a leather coat, camaro clock, umbrella, car blanket, watch, and a little bit of cash. Total value was like $1100 or something like that. I have never won anything that BIG since, but it was Fun winning that, and having to pay taxes, etc. on it as well.

I haven't won anything on the lottery because I don't play (no extra $) but congrats to you! I think winning any amount is exciting. I have won online contests for various things before and it was always very exciting.

A win is a win like the other poster said. I love it even when I only win $5 on the scratchies.
I did win $10,000 samoan tala a few years back (I think that equates to $3000 US or thereabouts and we used it for our wedding. It came at the right time because we didn't have to fork out any more funds after that.

I dont do the lottery Rose,but hubby does.he has had four numbers a few times but the payout is quite low really,and the money that he puts on the lottery could be better off invested in the Bradford and Bingley..im sure I have already told you this story,but we were on a trip out one day,and there was the three of us,hubby myself and the dog..we all decided to have a bag of crisps,and at the time Walkiers were doing a promotion,find the packet with a note inside,a money note..I had nothing in my packet,hubby didnt have a sausage in his..well the were salt and vinegar anyway...but the dog..he had a note wrapped in a little packet in his!!!!amazing..well it was so good of him,he gave it to Mum and Dad,and we all had fish and chips for tea!!may God bless Mr Walker...

We have done the lottery for years in fact since it started,but has a penny ever come our way?the answer is a big nope,we havent even won a tenner let alone twenty.Im always seeing peope in front of me in supermarkets handing over a lottery winning ticket and then collecting a good few quid,and I always think well the lucky so and so`s.We have a little flutter on the derby and the national and usually get a place,but thats as far as it goes,no big shakes.I used to do the pools years agi,but never won on them either,im sure im just not a lucky one.

Yeah its the first time we have won anything in a long time! We have been doing it for a few years now too.
