I know that my ex-boyfriend had his first heart attack as a teen and the doctor told him then that he would never get the chance to be intimate. My ex said, it only hindered him for a little while. But there was no way he would accept it. He says that he never had any problems with it again. So there is hope after a heart attack. Check out the tips and tell me what you think. http://www.everydayhealth.com/publicsite/index.aspx?puid=cbf18f01-451a-44c7-8b2e-86789f85190b&p=29&xid=nl_EverydayHealthWomensHealth_20080719

You don't say how long ago that was, but back in the 70s I used to push a bedpan and if you had a heart attack then you spent 10 days in bed and they gave you enemas so that you would not strain. Now a days, they want you up and walk 15 minutes later and doing marathons in a week. Ok, I maybe exaggerating a wee bit on this part but back then many people did not survive heart attacks, now a days quadruple by-passes are just about drive through surgery (ok, the let you stay a night or 2) but you get the idea. Things have really changed.

Yes, it was back in the seventies and we have truly come a long way since that time.

Except for the medications, the rest of the list you provided looks like what everyone would like, heart attack or no. What do you think?

But with the heart attack patient, these things may be necessary.

That doesnt sound right to me. I dont know why your ex's doctor would have said that. I think he should have reserved judgment for one so young. It probably really freaked him out at the time. Obviously he is still alive and kicking at a much later age. Doctor's need to be careful with their predictions for patients.

I agree with you there. But this was over twenty years ago, a lot has changed since that time.
