I think that Obama isn't any less patriotic than any normal American. To me this is just fine. A lot of people stress that his father wasn't american and claim that he is associated with terrorists, but I don't think that they can really substantiate these claims and to me they just sound like conspiracy theories. I think that the President of the United States should be proud of what his country stands for, but part of the campaign of reform means that he should not be proud of the things we have been doing. He feels like we are going in the wrong direction. Whether this is just campaign rhetoric or not, it does show some concern for the welfare of the country and that is good enough for me.

I honestly believe the President of the USA should be a patriot. I believe that John McCain is a true patriot, especially with his history during the Vietnam War. I don't know if he will make a good president because he is the good ole' boys Republican club. It should be an interesting next couple of months.

I agree that we're ALL patriots. How do you quantify that? How can anyone objectively say that one person or candidate is more patriotic than another? I also don't believe that military service is an indicator of patriotism since I'd bet there are many non-military patriots. Should the president be a patriot? Overall, I say he/she needs to be honest and admit to faults and shortcomings.
