The Moon is sad tonight, so let's cheer it up......

This is for nova and I make no apologies. Sometimes our friends as well as ourselves are going through such awful times our hearts are breaking. We need to have our souls and feelings fed with love and support and fun and music and laughter. The following is a song by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and I haven't been able to get it out of my head all day, thinking about my dear sweet friend. Tonight the moon is full and round, lazyily yellow shining through my tall Canadian pines. I have been sitting under those pines for over an hour singing this song, doing a bit of dancing and watching that moon, picturing the loving, worried face of my friend and the only way I can sleep tonight is to share it with here where she is so loved and appreciated. This is for nova and I make no apologies. "Lazy yellow moon coming up tonight Shining through the trees Crickets are singing And the lightning bugs are floating on the breeze Baby get ready Across the field where the creek turns back By the old stump road Im going to take you to a special place That nobody knows Baby get ready Ooo ooo ooo You and me going fishing in the dark Lying on our backs and counting the stars Where the cool grass grows Down by the river in the full moon light We’ll be falling in love in the middle of the night Just movin' slow Staying the whole night through Feels so good to be with you Spring is almost over and the summers comin The days are getting long Waited all winter for the time to be right Just to take you along Baby get ready And it don’t matter if we sit forever And the fish don’t bite Jump in the river and cool ourselves from the heat of the night Baby get ready Ooo ooo ooo You and me going fishin in the dark Lying on our backs and counting the stars Where the cool grass grows Down by the river in the full moon light We’ll be falling in love in the middle of the night Just movin' slow Staying the whole night through Feels so good to be with you And me going fishing in the dark Lying on our backs and counting the stars Where the cool grass grows Down by the river in the full moon light We’ll be falling in love in the middle of the night Just movin' slow...." Garth Brooks also did a rendition of this song, but I prefer the original - just like our nova is. So get off your butts everyone, and dance in the moonlight and open your hearts and send out your energy to our beloved nova, may she feel better and get her groove on!

I'd love too! However with this broken down old body of mine, you might have to hold me up. I'll try not to step on your toes with my purple shoes though

Tess I think anime has the best musical scores! Thanks for the link. Now here's the one for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Fishing in the Dark is the first track listed. Give it a listen.http://www.rhapsody.com/nittygrittydirtband

Tessah. I have no idea what that song is, or what the film is, but I do know that I discovered that my headphone volume was turned up way too high when it started. I was so surprised I left the planet. I'm typing this from the Moon! ROFL!!

Living where I do dpk, I can't avoid the moon! LOL It's awsome here. Even on nights when I can't see the stars, I can always find the moon. Sometimes it comes up so huge and orange that I'm gobsmacked at it's beauty and power. In my next life I want to be a moonbeam! LOL

You know something, I do too! And it has been a while! It must be you showing us all how to love one another and to feel it as well as to express it! I mean it, just the other day I was thinking of how I do not feel the love, from others or to others, but today, I do! Thank you!

Sparks, Sugar this is a lovely tribute to not only Nova but to the testament of friendship. I do believe we as women are so blessed in ways that men are not and can never be. It is not even the fact that we give birth. We share with each other on levels that a man just could never understand.... Well with one exception. Pike, I do believe he is in touch with his feminine side. LMAO. I am glad you are feeling better as well. I hope you know I thought about you every single day for the last 3 weeks.

Ah, Angel, you're so right! Women have the gift of instant friendship. And on a much deeper level than any man would ever even conceive of. We can meet one moment, and the very next moment, be holding each other and sharing our tears. It's the most amazing thing! And that book, Angel, that book I sent you. What a great illustration of that, yes? When you've finshed with it, send it on to Ann Marie, if you still have it and haven't already sent it on to someone else. I have another I'm reading now and I'll send it on to you, Angel, when I'm finished with it. We can just pass these right along for all of us to share and enjoy. I love reading about women and their friendships - it just further solidifies my own feelings about the whole thing. Ya know?

Angel, without the love and support of my circle of friends as well as the extended family here, I would not have survived this past year. So I'm paying it forward, in the way that only a woman can do. Love and laughter and more love and laughter without expectation of payback - just pay forward! I know you were thinking of me. Honestly I could feel it. Just before I went under the knife I thought of you and tessah and pike and nova and so many others. Saw ALL your avatars in my head! LOL And then at the last moment the spirit of the mother of a dear friend of mine who has been with me since I 'met' her, kissed my cheek and sent me off to la la land. And my lungs didn't collapse this time with the anesthetic. The power of love is a wonderful thing!

Spark, I will dance in the moonlight just for your friend nova tonight. As you know I like doing this and will be glad to do it in the spirit of friendship and yours for nova. May an angel brush her with his wings and bring her whatever she needs, lifting her spirits. This is what I will ask for under the moon tonight as I dance to my own music in my head... who knows it may be the one you've just put there. I love this song you have floating in your head.

Hi nova and Spark, I'm touched that you think so much of me. Thank you both. I am just me and that's all I can be. You all know me about as much as anyone. I say what I mean and I try to be good to everyone. I have always been this way. I do sincerely hope for things to be better for you nova.

Moondancer, wow, this is beautiful, thank you. That sounds so insufficient, but as I said to Spark below, it's all I've got. So thank you. And I hope you feel that angel's wings too, sweet Moondancer. You certainly deserve to. XXX And the best response is most entirely deserved too. Good job, Spark. XXX

Sparky, Sparky, Sparky! I just got home and came to the computer and what did I find? This beautiful gift from you, yet another one. The first one you gave me, the poem you wrote, is just so beautiful, it "slides under my skin and right into my heart". And now this. How can I tell you how much this means to me? But I don't have to, do I? Because you already know - that's why you gave this to me. And this is why I'm not isolating anymore, and keeping my butt here on the Lot, where I can be safe in the bosom of my wonderful, beautiful, completely amazing friends, who love me and want me to be happy. The only way I'm going to get through this thing is to be here, to rely on you to keep my spirits where they should be, at least close to where they should be. You are my rock. You and p1ke and Goodie and Angel and LJ and Plunk and our resident hunk myklj. Truly, I don't know where I'd be without you. ok, yes I do - I'd be in my chair, firmly planted, trying to either sleep or watch endless movies to numb my mind. It's much better here. I'm really so grateful to you, Spark. You know I am. You have my heart, so you know how I feel. And you know I'm crying again too. But they're not bad tears, not these, these are tears that flow from the well of love that all of you help me keep filled to overflowing. Thank you. Thank you. If I said it a thousand times, it wouldn't be sufficient. But it's all I've got. So, thank you. XXXXX and a thousand more.

Oooh, I wanna come and dance under the pines, Sparky! And yeah, I'm sure it WILL happen. But we may well be old and infirm. No matter though, we'll still dance. Hey, we can chair dance from our rockers!!! And Tess will be there! I know she will. How could she resist? I'll dream of that night, Spark, guaranteed.

One day Nova, no matter how old, how infirm we are, you and I (and Tess if she'll come) but definitely you and I, are going to dance, yes dance, under my tall Canadian pines in the light of the yellow moon, beside the river, while our fishing poles lazily tease the fish. I promise! So baby get ready.............!
