My date with the "new guy".....Good things come to those who wait!

Friday night I went out with a guy I've had a crush on for 7 years. At the ripe old age of 61 (today!)this is a big thing for me! We had an awesome time and neither of us wanted it to end. We went for dinner at a place that also has a lounge with a country band which we both love and enjoyed right to the end of their performance. We did a lot of talking...or as much as you can do in this situation with a band playing. But when we went outside for a cigarette we got a lot of talk time in also. We went out again Saturday night and Sunday night we stayed in and watched our favorite programs on tv and ordered pizza. We've found that we have a lot in common. He lives down the hall from me and this morning about an hour after I left his apartment to come back to mine (yes we've had S E X since the first date and it's been unbelievable! ) he knocked on my door, hugged me and told me he's loved me since the first time we met...7 years ago and was so happy that we are now together. I've always told my kids that good things come to those who wait and boy do I believe that now!!!

heart - love
How wonderful for you! I smiled though your whole post! The man I am with, it started that way and three years later, he makes my heart sing! He also pi55es me off a lot, but I think that is because the feelings are so strong. I am very happy for you and good luck!

So far he hasn't pi@@ed me off yet but then we're in the "honeymoon" stage right? Everything is always perfect in the beginning.

This is great. I'm so glad for you. It isn't often that we get a second chance for real love. some times we just have to go through the bad stuff to recognize the good stuff when it comes along. I'm really happy for you. YOU GO GIRL!!!

I've been married twice and had a couple of relationships but I really don't think I've ever been in love and had the feelings that I'm experiencing now. I'm beginning we have to really be "grown ups" before we really know what love is.

I've had nothing but bad luck when it comes to men and I think my luck has finally changed ( how many times have I said that...lol) but I have a good feeling that I have done it right for a change.
