well today was a shocking day for me..i got up in the morning and thought of checking Mylot when i realised that my internet explorer kept redirecting me to some antivirus site and said my computer is infected....i was so so very upset i tried my best to find what was wrong but could not locate ..finally i called a computer technician and then began the torture it said that there were 3000 Trojan Virus on my PC ....my poor PC....this never happened before...he tried to remove them one by one but no joy then we had to take a back up of all the data and reformat the computer and reload..it was a very painful and depressing day..Finally i am up again but i am so tired after all this...did any other mylotter experience their computer getting infected by virus? can a virus come because of using mylot or Pay To Clicks? How do you feel if your computer is not working fine and having problems? can you reformat and do the technical settings of computer on your own or do you have an annual maintainance contract with a company? my day actually got ruined ..good part is that finall it is up again..pls share your experiences i might learn something or any other information you have that may be helpful in such conditions..

I have a firewall that keeps most things out. I also run anti-spyware checks every few days and virus checks once a week or more often. Do you open attachments in emails? Don't ever do that! Even from someone you know, that's how most worms and viruses enter a computer. Computers that are infected will email everyone in the computer's address book, unknown to the computer's owner, and spread itself that way. Run regular virus checks and spyware sweeps and you can avoid that in the future. And never open attachments!

I know what you mean! I got that same virus a while ago. It is a redirection to an antivirus site, and before you know it you have downloaded the program with the trojan in the background and it kills your computer. Luckily I have a very good anti virus program so when I started getting the warnings and tried to remove the virus and saw it changed name and my computer went really slow I got a bad feeling. I had the "emergency reaction": I immediately unplugged the internet connection. Turned off the computer and restarted it in safe mode. In safe mode only the most necessary processes that is needed for the computer to run starts. I then deleted the program, which wasn't easy. Took about three restarts to get it all out. Then ran anti virus and managed to get rid of it, or at least I think so! Now my computer works fine again, I think I got away with it this time! But I know now how bad it could get. So hope you got a good anti virus programs for the future! Or a good computer technician handy at all times! That virus is really nasty!

I may have been late but what i did was installed Firefox in my PC that redirection malware is not affecting Firefox browser. What I did was go to www.geekstogo.com and ask for help with them. They gave me instructions on what to do with my PC and after three days of exchanging information we were able to make the necessary correction without even reformatting and reinstalling my OS. I am quite happy that my data and softwares are still intact and my PC is working normally again. What is good about it was its totally free.
