Does anyone knows the remedy for cat's scratching?

Our cats keeps on scratching.. and he feels very uncomfortable. does anyone know how to cure our cat? he keeps on licking the part of his body that maybe he feels very itchy. We have no idea of how to help our cat.
Hope anybody here could help us out. What is the possible home remedies for itching for cat?

My cat went through that sort of thing a little while ago, she licked herself so much in one area her fur became matted, I took her to the vet and it because she had fleas, even though i never did see any fleas, so the vet gave me some medication and now she is ok...

yes, we discovered just yesterday that our cat had fleas and we give him medicine.. to get rid of the fleas. He is a little bit better now.
