How to get more responses for each discussion?

Hi all-
I was just wondering, as I looked at the discussions that had hundreds of more responses to them where the topic was just as good as mine, and the amount of writing of each post was identical.
I'm trying not to whine here, but I have gotten about two or three responses to each of my discussions, and five to the last one.
So, all of you people who have enough responses to write a book of, how do you get so many responses to your questions?
Any tips for me?

I don't know how to tell you to get more responses on your discussions. I've been here about 7 weeks, and the most I've gotten on mine are 8-10 responses. I think the main reason that some get more responses is they've been here a long time and have friends with the same interests. And they probably post to each other's discussions. I know I watch the discussions of friends I have made and try to comment on them if it's any interest to me. I think, when people get to know you, perhaps they will comment more. Just my thoughts.
