gall bladder

last january 2008,my gall bladder had to be taken out because of a cyst on top of it...my tummy has bloated since then...my doctor says...its just because i gained weight...then i read this book- the liver cleansing diet-indicating that the liver of a person without the gall bladder has to work overtime and there was the symptom of a bloated tummy...gosh...im so scared...

The liver does have to work harder. A bloated tummy because of that would probably be onesided, but even that could have other reasons. Did you indeed gain weight? Significantly? With weight gain signs in other places? If nto, you may want to have somebody else evaluate you, another doctor. Better safe than sorry. Have a scan done, insist on one. There other things that can cause a 'bloated' tummy. If I would think something is wrong, I would never trust a doctor's dismissivenes of the symptoms, especially without further investigation of possible causes other than 'oh, you got fat'.
