school season

here in the philippines our school year starts on june and ends in march the following year. though i'd say it's quite ironic because june is also the start of the rainy season and many typhoons 'visit' our country. there are lots of days wherein school is suspended because of that. how about in your country what's the school season, if we can call it that.
