and you thought of giving some of your wealth to a charity,to what charity are you giving your money out for to help? i will be donating some of my money to children who has cancer for them to be treated earlier and live life the way they should be living it. it is sad that not all cancer patients especially children live that long because of them does not meet the treatment they needed. second would be saving the rainforest for the pollution to lessen and for the illegal loggers to stop cutting down trees who helps us breathe fresh air and lessen the floods whenever it rains so hard. third is for the families and children of Africa and stop malnutrition. i will donate money for them to be able to take 3 meals or more a day and give them back their built.shelter would be also great for them because there was a time as i watched tv it showed that most of them live on streets alone lying with mattresses or even imporvised one. it burdens me to see such as this. i just hope i have this much money for me to be able to help these people for them to live a better life.

Hi skbh, I would love to share my billion(how I wish,LOL) to all of the orphanage! To give those kids nice room to enjoy, enough food as well as to provide them with good education..It might be hard to look for a couple to adopt them and give them love and care but if it is possible, I will be looking for responsible couple and give them enough money to adopt even one kid.. I've been in several orphanage in my life and its painful to see them, trying to flash a smile even if deep inside they are in pain...They have no one to call a family and every time I will leave, I always wanted to cry!

if money was not an issue for me, I would donate to various charities that help children with special needs. I would also like to open a center that offers free help and services to parents of children with special needs. Currently my area has a center like this, but the waiting list to get in is over three years! People need help now!

hi skbh12, that is a noble way to spend your money. i think i will donate it to orphanages. you know, the children deserve parents, but they don't get it! so i think it will be at least a little bit relief for their pain of being orphan. second i will donate it to any party who fight global warming. i watched on tv that global warming (which human definitely responsible for that) is greatly affecting the icy surface in north pole. and you know what happen to the polar bears there? their population is decreasing fast. they are starving because the icy surface is broken in this part and that part, and somehow they don't get their natural food.

normally all billionairs will donate to get the benefit of tax , as advised by their tax consultants. since this is a world wide phenomenon. and there is lot of work unfinished in spite of tall claims by the governments and charities. so the need for the charities for all causes will never cease to exist and there is a big gap as of now. one can take up any one field / area and focus for the betterment f the down trodden!!! you heart is so humble . let us all get along and do smaller things which we can easily do . it may need funds ok , but what is actually required is more of love and care for the suffering people !!!! good luck.

really? i didn't know about that. well it sure is more important to show a helping hand rather that give money and let them do the work. all the while i thought these people will benefit more from it but i was wrong. thanks for a well informed information. well someday ill be doing these things. give a helping hand to the needy when i feel the success in life.

If I were a billionaire, I would donate some of my wealth to an organization dedicated to fighting poverty. We all know what desperate people can do just to have food on their plate. I grew up poor myself so I know what it's like. I would also donate some of my money to giving scholarships to young people who are really intelligent but could not afford to proceed to university to get a degree. I was a scholar myself in the university and I'm grateful for programs like that.

Well, I have a question for the African part, I am african-american to let you know. I mean were africans always like this? Can't they take caer of themselves? Don't they have hunters and such, since if they didn't none of them would have survived vefore countries started helping them and I would'nt be here. I'm not saying you shouldn't give to those charities or anything, I'm just asking those simple questions. Oh And I'd donate to children with cancer, It's really sad that some children don't get to eperience all the things in life that they could.

well with the africans there are some africans who are not that fortunate enough to live the life like you do. well maybe it is what i always see on tv on how much they suffer living without food to eat and no shelter to protect themselves from whatever danger that may be caused by the environmental factors. especially when they talk about the increasing number of malnutrition? i just can't stand seeing kids with this kind of built. skin and bones. hope i didn't not offend you in a any way.

I will give my some portion of my wealth to the charity that aids the elder people in our society so that their lives may somehow be lengthen through the joys and fulfillment that my money may give them. Also, I want to share some to those kids who have no parents at all. Well, if I could, I would love to help as many charities and foundations as possible.

I will give it to childrens in need and to homeless people. I can't stand to see a child in pain and it is killing me to even think there are people without shelter and bed. I can't imagine them on the cold nights without a heat or blanket. I don't believe that such thing exist while in another houses of the rich people there are 10 rooms without anybody in them. the homelesses need attention and not just a place that the social services will put them into shelters and forget about them. they need love and an open ear. good day !

I think there are a lot of things that someone could do with all that money. I know that I would be sure my son is well taken care of for his future. I know I would like to be some type of philanthropist. I would like to donate money and time to helping people without a lot of things. It seems that having all that money would warrant me to help people as much as I can.

if I were a billionaire, I'll: 1. have a business so I'll earn more money for my family (since I think a billion won't last for a hundred years) 2. provide everything that my family needs and of course the things I need and want too 3. donate money to families and children in Africa (I really want to, because I saw what kind of life they have there on tv) 4. donate money to people with AIDS 5. donate money to people with cancer and yes I'll be selfish to my neighbors and relatives who is probably going to ask for money because I think they have enough money to feed theirselves and I think some other people needs more than they do. and yes, I'll do the things I wrote if I have a billion. that is if ever I have one. haha. :)

donations are only deserved to be given to people who are really in need like the ones you have mentioned. true that a lot will take advantage of the wealth you have especially when they find out that you are a giving person so if this happens to you be careful with to whom you will offer your wealth.

If I am a billionaire, I'll divide my wealth into two. The first part would be for my family, my child's future in particular. I will deposit it in a bank. The interest itself would give her a comfortable life through out her life. The other part would be divided into five parts , namely: the abandon elders and children, education, health, livelihood and housing. I like to give some of my wealth to the abandon elders and children. So as to provide with the means to meet their needs. It will be very satisfying to know that a lot of these helpless people has live easier because of me. I think that it is my obligation to be able to provide support to them, especially if I have the resources. I would like to build comfortable accommodation for these people. I also want to ensure that they would get adequate food, clothings, medicines and personnel that would provide with the care they need. Another part would be spent with the education of the youth especially those who are in the rural areas. I would like to build schools for them, supplied with all the facilities and equipment they might need. I would want to provide this kids free uniforms, school supplies, shoes and just everything they needed. Included in this program is providing different trainings to people in those places. In terms of health, I would like to build a simple yet complete hospital for people in the regional area. I wouldn't spend so much on the building itself, but on the facilities and service it can offer. I would want it to offer free service, medicines and maybe free surgical procedures for those who might need it. I'll spend another part of my wealth in housing and livelihood projects. I believe that accommodation is a priceless investment. Having a house of your own gives you the shelter to protect you from harm, be it from animals, climate or people as well. I would want to build houses which is simple and cheap but strong. This is to maximize the alloted budget. Livelihood projects would be given emphasis as this would help people to become independent. As they say, you shouldn't just give fish to someone, you should teach him how to catch one. I wish I could be a billionaire, so I can make all these things come true...

If I were a billionaire, I would donating 10% of my wealth to church to support elder, orphans, widows, and poverty. Not only to support them, I would like to contribute improvement for their life such as getting education and a job. Most of people haven't thought of a group that need a lot of support is disabled people including deaf people. They need same treatment as elder, orphans, widows, and needy people to get better life including getting education and job, etc... Also, I would like to set up mission work shelter to support variety needs in Nicaragua to help disabled people, widows, elder, orphans, and poor and homeless people. I want travel world to help those people.

hi rshartist, you are right, no one has mentioned about donating something for the disabled. at least you were that person who thought of helping these people. yes and they fit at any job to be offered even though there are disabilities in their body because they help inspire other people to work hard more.

I'd definitely give to charity. I give to the ones that involve feeding people, helping kids, and animals. It is one of my main goals in life. I want to give back when I can afford to. I like the feeling of helping someone, it really makes me happy.

If I were a billionaire, I would actually invest at least one fourth of it in a business so that it would earn so that I could continue doing the following even after I have given the rest of my money for it. 1. Start my restaurant and hire people who really have the skills but not the opportunity. 2. Give some part of it to start a livelihood project in a poor community. 3. Buy lands where I could plant a lot of trees and let animals roam there as freely as they want. 4. Put up a school of magic for aspiring Filipino magicians.
