Do you think that Disney still make good movies?

How many of you fine mylotters watched Disney movies when you were a kid? What was your favorite Disney movie?Do you still watch Disney movies now? What is your current favorite Disney movie?Do you still think Disney makes good movies when it comes to entertainment and being appropriate for children? If so,why do you think that? And if you have children or ever have children will you let them watch Disney movies? If not, then why do you think that Disney does not still make movies that are both entertaining and appropriate for children?I actually got thinking about this because me ,my fiance, and my mom have recently watched two movies made by Disney,we watched College Road Trip and The Game Plan and both were great, they had great stories and a lot of humor, and they were well worth the time to watch, and I would recommend them to anyone who has not seen them and loves comedy, and they reminded me of how much I used to love Disney movies when I was a kid,and I would say that my favorite Disney movie would either be The Lion King or The Lion King 2:Simbas Pride, because they were both excellent movies with great songs, and yes me and my fiance still try to watch Disney movies whenever possible, but I can not really say that I have a favorite,I definately think Disney still makes the greatest movies because they can always keep your attention, and they do not contain any foul language or content that would be bad for kids, and when me and my fiance have children one day,I would definately allow them to watch Disney movies, and I am sure that me and my fiance would be watching with them,I will appreciate anyone who takes the time to respond to this discussion, and just like with all the other discussions I do in this fine community,I will appreciate anyone who takes this discussion seriously, and gives me honest, truthful answers, have a great day.

Of course I watched them as a kid. I loved them and watched them repeatedly over and over until the VHS tapes wore out:) Good thing very technology because my kids (3 and 4) now do the same thing but with DVD's. Growing up my favorite was 101 Dalmations and ironically without me telling them until they had watched it, this is my kids favorite disney movie. They love all of the cartoons, new and old, especially the Disney/Pixar movies. My daughter thinks she is Sharpay froom High School Musical with is great. She loves Enchanted, too. I would recommend to anyone that they get involved with the Disney magic and watch:)

We are always watching Disney movies. I would have to say my favorite disney movie growing up was Little mermaid. I knew all the songs word for word. I love that movie the game plan it is so cute and funny. I didn't get the chance to watch college road trip but will watch it soon i'm sure. Every Monday on Disney channel they play a disney movie. I try and record them for my kids if we haven't seen them yet. We own a good amount of disney dvds and watch them often.

Yeah I watched Disney movies as a child, I also have the books. I did not have a favourite movie as far as I remember, but do quite like Bambi, because deers are cute and elegant, but Lion King was also good as you could sing along. Also 101 Dalmations was good, because I am not a fan of dogs and her coat was really pretty lol, yeah I do not have traditional view of that movie. I do not think that I still watch Disney movies, none have come to mind when I think about it. I think the ones out at the moment are appropriate for children, just I do not think that they attract me as an older audience. I think they are more appropriate now as everyone is becoming more PC with 101 Dalmatians possibly becoming a 15 rated film as it has smoking etc in it.

I have to say, movies made by Disney are good ones for children indeed, but if we see the same pattern all the time, won't you be tired of it? From the time I saw the first Disney moive, many years have past, I regret to say, it hasn't been changing. Nowadays, I see their moives fewer than before. I really wish they could make more wonderful moives, and give us more suprises.

I have always loved Disney movies, I'm not sure I have a favorite though. I know when I was kids I loved The Parent Trap, then my next fav was Aladdin. The Lion King was great too! I have children now and they love Disney. My 12 yr old's favorite movie right now is High School Musical (both 1 & 2), of course her's changes all the time :) My 2 yr old has several favorites too like Cars, Monsters Inc. and probably is most favorite right now Toy Story (1 & 2). I really liked Finding Nemo also. I very much enjoy all Disney movies and would recommend then to anyone with or without children. They are all great family movies and I don't have to worry about my kids seeing something they shouldn't. I love being able to watch a movie for the first time with my kids and not have to worry. I look forward to all future movies of Disney, I know their going to be great.

Hi there hell cowboy. I have watched them as a kid and i still watch them with great pleasure. From some time now the Walt Disney Company has started reworking the old movies, making the colors more brighter thus restoring them graphically speaking. They also have a bunch of bonuses to their business dvd's they sell. I love most of the old movies and i also like some of the new ones. I loved "Enchanted" and "Wall_E". I also loved all the sequels to the classics: Little mermaid 2, 3 ; Peter Pan 2, Jungle Book 2, Lion king 2 and Lion King 1 and 1/2; Cinderella 2 and 3; Beauty and the beast 2 and 3 etc. I just watched Disney's Mickey Christmas movie from 1997 and it was like a show of Mickey but showed all of the Classics characters and villains and showed even some classic stories from Disney - i just think Walt would have loved this. I have seen the College Road trip and the game plan and i did like them both, and if you like those i would recommend you "The Pacifier" and "Herbie Fully Loaded" from Disney as well. They are also very fun to watch.

Hie Hellcowboy, I have always love and amazed by the Disney cartoon and movies especially the classic ones since I was a kid. Then I was also enjoying fairy tales by Enid Blyton. Up till now I still watch them and will go to the cinemas to catch one.And I would say all is my favorite but I esp. like the Lion King too, Beauty & the Beast and the Little Mermaid. They make the animals looked so adorable and harmless, who would have ever thought beastly animals would be as such and humorous too. A mouse harmless! It is such a great masterpiece and the moral teachings behind it is so valuable that they should be enjoyed by the whole family & kids of all ages. I believe it should be in the collections of every household along with their own individual folks tales. Cheers and happy posting!

To some extent I agree with you,the classics are better than the newer ones, but I think it has something to do with those are the ones we grew up one, just like the newer ones are the ones the newer generation are growing up on,so basically to them, the newer ones will be the classics, but that is just my opinion, thanks for responding ,have a great day, good luck in your life, and Happy Posting.

Hi, Yes I think Dysney movies still make great movies. They are the best. When I was a kid, me and my siblings like to watch Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and other classic Disney movies. If I will have children someday, I will let them watch Disney movies too. I think Dysney movies are for all ages. The classic are great and the new Dysney movies are good too so all Disney movies are a success. I heard that people don't want their kids to watch Kungfu Panda because they don't like their kids to imitate the actions but I think it is just alright as kids will always be in a world full of imagination and fantasies , it will not harm them if parents will guide and supervise them well.

I don't particularly care for Disney. Of course there is no way to avoid all of them and there are a few that I do enjoy but for the most part I don't watch them. My favorites are all old - Robin Hood, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, the live-action Three Musketeers (with Keifer Sutherland and Charlie Sheen), Nightmare Before Christmas, The Sword in the Stone (ultimately responsible for my life-long King Arthur obsession), and The Watcher in the Woods. I don't think there is any comparison between, for example, Lindsey Lohan and Hayley Mills (the Parent Trap) or Lindsey Lohan and Jodie Foster (Freaky Friday). The old movies were better, hands down. I don't know, really, if Disney is still making good movies because the last new movie I watched (and really enjoyed) was The Kid with Bruce Willis and Spencer Breslin. I've seen a few since that one but didn't like any of them, and I refuse to see any of the new cartoons. Personally, if I am going to watch a cartoon, I want it to look like a cartoon, not like real people/animals/cars/etc. The new CGI trend makes me very sad for kids who don't get to appreciate the beauty of the 2D animation of the past (Although my 3y.o. cousin is addicted to Peter Pan which makes me super happy).

I am a great fan of Disney movies. I liked them when I was a kid, and still I like them a lot. I really enjoy the animation movies they make. They are surely the masters in this field. One thing I must say, they don't make movies showing their animation tricks, but all their movies have great story lines. I've not seen a single disney movie witout some morals in them. They never make movies with hi-fidelty concepts. They generally deal with normal down-to-earth issues understandable by children. My all time favourite Disney movie is Lion King. I watched that movies over and over but still I like the same. But, now-a-days I cant find that magic in Disney movies. They are making good movies still, but none of them can be named as classic. Am expecting one from Disney.

How can you not Love a good Disney movie, especially some of the Classics out there like Dumbo, Aristocats, Cinderella, etc. and not want to watch them over and over again. I am in my 40s and have quite a few Disney movies I could never part with. These are still some Great movies to watch compared to some of the other types of movies coming out, and I make sure and try to catch quite a few of them as I can as well. Yes, they have changed quite a bit some from when Disney himself was alive, but these are still good movies. Glad to hear that you continue to enjoy these as well.

I like Disney in general. And as a twenty-something I'm not afraid to admit that, lol. I also like The Lion King 2, I think I liked it better than the first one (shocker, right?). I also like The Fox And The Hound, Lady & The Tramp, and The Jungle Book. I think what's cool about Disney is the fact that they always deliver. And the newer stuff like High School Musical is good, but it's different than the movies from years ago.
