Why do they have to make it so difficult?

I had to wash the cover on my daughters car seat the other night when we got home. It took me about 10 minutes to get the cover off because I had to undo all of these elastic things and then undo the straps. When it came to putting it back on it took even longer. Why do they have to make it so difficult to take them off? When was the last time you had to wash a carseat cover?

I know, isn't it so ridiculous? They KNOW children make awful messes...why don't they make it easier to clean?
I've only washed my childrens' car seat covers a few times. They've been passed down from kid to kid. With a new one now and then (usually from garage sale or a hand-me down from a friend). By the time my kids are done with the seat, it's pretty much encrusted with dirt. The car seat cover never fits quite right again after you wash it too. The head cover of my son's booster seat would always fall down because the elastic wore out after being washed a couple of times.
The other thing that's a total pain - is the car seat straps! On their baby car seat you could remove them completely and wash them. They weren't hard to put back on. But the booster - ugh. I think I took the straps off ONCE in the 6-8 years we used it. They were such a pain to get on and off!

Ah! It's been forever since I had to do anything like that. But I do remember.
My boys are 14 and 21 now. I don't have patience for things like that. If I have grandchildren and have a car seat for them in my car, I will probably just buy a new one if the seat cover gets dirty and can't just be wiped off. Lol!
