My rating points dropped and I don't understand

Opal I do not know what makes the star ratings go down. I think it has to do with how someone rates your discussions but do not quote me on that. I will tell you I do not pay attention to the star ratings. I do not even know what my start ratings are. I have seen that there are people here on myLot that mark peoples discussions down just to be mean because they think it is funny. I have also heard of people writing some rude and nasty things here just because they think it is funny. I hope your start ratings will go up again. Good luck my friend I do not judge a person by their start rating.

Don't get too upset Opal, it happens all the time. Mine has gone up and down so many times I should be seaksick! . It's really no big deal and I doubt you said anything to actually upset anyone. Sometimes I think that it's a way some people release their frustrations in secret. My number was a 10 a few weeks ago and out of nowhere it dropped to an 8 overnight. I just kind of laughed about it. I honestly couldn't care less, it's a bogus system that shouldn't even be here on myLot in my opinion. Some of the most interesting and intelligent people on myLot have 2's, 3's and 4's. So don't let it get to you, just be yourself and don't worry about that star. It means nothing.

You know what, I have a Mac and see what my actual rating is, I have to go through a multi-step process and download a special notepad and a different browser. I see a 9 or 10 or an 8 and I am happy with that. Don't get so hung up on the numbers, they don't affect your pay. Just relax and enjoy the ride.

opal there are a few mean people who do not like anyone having a ten or a nine and will minusthe hell out of you for no reason at all.you did nothing wrong. it has happened to all of us at one time.you will in time get your star back. wish we knew who is doing this as its against the rules you do not hit negative just because you did not like someone,that is against mylot rules.

Hi Opal26, I know how you feel, because it happend to me too, and now I' a yellow star but it ok, I was upset jut like you are now, but don't worry it just someone has rated your discussion a minus because they didn't like it. You will get back your star soon, keep posting. Tamara

Don't let the start upset you, as long as you know your posting in an ethical way and posting to the best of your ability, nothing else matters. I personally give everyone a plus unless someone has said something that was so offensive I can't turn my back on it. Hope your having a great day.

You probably have the answer to your question, but if you haven't here is an idea. The only thing I can think that they went down was because one or more of the discussions that you responded to were deleted for some reason. And good thing that it won't stop you.

Hi Opal, Firstly don't get upset, this does happen all the time. It maybe that someone didn't like something you said and then decided to neg rate a few of your discussions. I had a perfect 10 and it was attack overnight by petty people down to a 7. I tend not to take notice of this rating as it doesn't affect earnings and friends will still respond whether you have a star or not as they understand it. As ever just keep posting, keep responding and having fun and don't let the few affect the majority. Ellie :D

Do not worry about the rating at all! It does surprise you at first but I'd get over it fast! Mine's gone down too, but hey - you can't please everyone. You win some and you lose some!
