I love listening to music .I grew up listening to gospel and country music. And as I got older I started listening to pop rock. Now my daughtert likes listening to rap or just whatever they play on the radio. And my son is six and he likes listening to heavy metal.Do you think that certain kinds of music has effects on kids.

I have seen many kids and children. I have seen their tastes vary a lot. So, it would be unfair to categorize their choices. If your kids like Rock/ Heavy Metal, there are some kids, whom I know - actually prefer Pop or Country Music. It is difficult to say, control or predict human behavior even during their early ages. It is said that family, environment, surroundings, and above all education play an important role in the development of children but that do not guarantee development of moulded minds. But basically kids love rhythm. So anything that is rhythmic, would definitely bring delight in their tender mind.

No matter what music you listen to it will have an effect on you. This has been scientifically proven. I wonder if you're thinking the music your children listen to will drive them to act on what they are hearing. I strongly doubt it. I think we use music to change ourselves emotionally and for inspiration. Some use Heavy Metal to pump themselves up before a basketball game. Some use Country to get them through a long drive. I don't think your son or daughter will go around killing people ir anything like that.
