mercedes is not that popular here right now, actually some people stopped from using their own cars because of gasoline which are too expensive, they just commute everyday. but in cars. i think Honda Jazz are in? because its cute and fashionable

I don't know about Philippine cars.I know about philipine people :). they are nice and friendly.They helped me a lot When i was in Dubai. There are so many Filipinos in Dubai. Philippines population is the 7th biggest population in the world and millions of them working in middle east other countries.

Last year and early this year 2008, big cars such as SUV and van have become popular among the Filipino people. You could always see everyday the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Innova, Honda CRV, Nissan X-Trail, Isuzu Crosswind and Alterra, etc. roaming the road and street. Probably the space and comfort that these cars bring have made them a big choice among the Filipino family. But with the continuous increase and surge in the prices of the fuel, I could see the emergence of small and economy cars becoming popular among the Filipinos. Small cars such as Hyundai Getz and Swift, Suzuki Alto, etc. are being driven by people for their everyday use, particularly those who can't or don't want to commute.

i think SUVs are the most in-demand means of transportation now. for taxi franchiser, its isuzu crosswind or toyota revo (which i heard is more expensive now). there's land cruiser (hot car), expedition (another hot car) - hot car meaning hot for the carnappers!

i think based on the numbers of cars you can see on the road, the most popular and widely used is Toyota. vios are everywhere and now altis is being used as taxi. Innova has been a family favorite and the Grandia is being used by travel guide tours.

i think a Jaguar is an eyecatcher on the road since only few owns such brand

Yes the Mercedes is still a status symbol in here. Those that have that is either someone rich or a politician. Mostly they are judges that I know using that car. But lately there has been BMWs, and some other high end cars that are slowly coming in the scene but they are a few. Mainly the popular brands in here are the Toyota, Mitsubushi, KIA, Nissan, Hyundai lines this cars are the most common cars you see out there.
