Estelle Getty died today

You may think she was older because she played the part of an old lady, but she was actually the youngest of the Golden Girls. She was funny, I did enjoy her tremendously - all 76 pounds of her. That is too bad. I think it is time for a golden girls marathon in her honor!

I watched Golden Girls all the time when I was younger. Sophia was my favorite character. She didn't pull any punches and always said what was on her mind. I liked the interaction between her and Rose. That was always good for a laugh. Estelle played that part very well.

I remember her most as Sophia on the Golden Girls. I bet you probaly thought she was alot older since she played an 80 year old woman on Golden Girls but she was alot younger she was all made up to look older just a thought.

Wow. That's an end of an era. I remember watching it with my grandma when I was younger. She would explain to me about what was going on and stuff. Time flies, man. I've seen a couple of episodes in the past year and I thought it was a clever program. She was definitely funny.

It's a sad loss. I first saw her in the movie Mask with Cher. She played Cher's mother. She was alot younger then. I still watch the Golden Girls daily on the television. The reruns ar so funny. I seem to discover something new in them no matter how often I've seen them. She was great, the role she played on the Golden Girls was hilarious.

I thought she was older than that too. I always liked her. I was just a little kid when The Golden Girls came out, but I still liked watching it.
