Who decides what's for dinner and when does dinner for that night get planned? The morning of? or the night before? Do you decide or do you let your family? I usually plan dinner the night before and if I have to take anything out of the freezer, I Do it then so that I'm not stuck an houre before dinner trying to scramble something up. If we have something else like take out, I just cook dinner anway and have it either for leftovers or the next night for dinner.

I'm the one who decides whats for dinner and I'm the one who cooks it. My husband don't care what he eats as long as he eats something..lol. I usually plan it in the mornings, if it needs to be defrosted I'll get it out of the freezer that morning, so it'll be ready to cook that evening.

Hi ladylonewolf. I decided what's for dinner 2 or 3 hours before cook and it includes dessert. If I want to take anything out of the freezer I do that at lunch time so it can defrost untill I cook the dinner. But sometimes I ask my daughter what she want for dinner and it means more work to me LOL.

We usually don't decide till about 2 hours before dinner time. When my husband gets home from work i ask him what he wants. We got through all the freezers like something new will have appeared since the day before and then we pick something. The only time I plan from the night before is if it's something I need to cook in the crock pot. Then I need to know the night before so I can get up and get it in the crockpot and going in the morning so that it is done by supper time.

Hello, It is customary in our family to dine together as during lunch it is not possible. In the dinning table itself we discuss and finalise the menu for the next breakfast and dinner.the leftovers are usually consumed in the lunch,so there is no problem for cooking for lunch.usually we give priority to choice of the children.thanx.

We either decide on dinner the night before/that morning in case we need to take stuff out of the freezer or if we have lots of stuff ready to eat then we leave it until an hour before dinner time. The decision is usually made by me and my Mam as my Dad and Sister are not particularly fussy about what they eat.

I agree with raven, but sometimes I say whatever you can microwave!
