The subject of having a Final Fantasy XIII on XBOX360

I'm not posting this because I'm a fanboy or something. And it's not valid to do it here, I don't want to get banned of course. What I like to know is the positive reactions from people who heard the news. And I want to hear the negative as well. For my part, here's what I can say about it. For me, the positive thing is that many X360 owners get to play the most visually-stunning console-based RPG. It's actually really cool, if people will be convinced to play RPGs because nowadays it's all shooters and action games, more bashing and less thinking. And the install base of X360 in the US is quite big. And as for the downside, it is of course the delaying of the title for the PS3. Because they will make a port on the X360 and will make a simultaneous release in the US and Europe. The development time it would take for the translation and the port would take too long. I mean simultaneous releases are cool, but then dragging down the expectations of most PS3 users that want to grab their copy earlier is definitely a bad thing. I want to hear from you guys. But no flaming and fanboy wars please. Just the pros and cons that you can think off.

Lately, more and more of the games that I would want to get for the PS3 are showing up on the Xbox 360. Previously, I never considered buying an Xbox because it only had one or two games I'd want- so not worth spending a lot of money on. But now that it has things like Assassin's Creed and this new development with FFXIII, I'm considering going for that instead. It'd be simpler than trying to buy some form of the PS3 that's backwards compatible with all my PS1/PS2 games. That, and my PS2 still works beautifully. Anyway, I say it's fine that it would take longer for the game to come out. That means the developers have a better chance to go over any inconsistencies or screwups in the game. I'm also hopeful that this will give them a chance to make sure the storyline is more engaging, because FFXII was sort of disappointing to me (a good idea, but not planned out well enough for my liking). If the Xbox continues to get more and more RPG games, it'll become a more balanced sort of console.. and while those who are huge first-person shooter/action fans might be against that idea, I think those of us who like a mix in our gaming styles will approve of that, and possibly even buy that console more.

Yes, but the first version to come out will be the Japanese version. And it's a playstation exclusive in Japan, so most likely what will drive it to be released in a later date is the localization process as well as the port development for the Xbox. But then that is so true, many good RPGs are coming out of the box, even western RPGs like Mass Effect. Then the Final Fantasy creator developed Lost Oddyssey, then there's Blue Dragon. There's so much good stuff on the 360 that only money hinders me from buying one. I hope I can get my hands on one real soon. Anyways let's just hope that the new FF will be a very good one, PS3 or X360 wise.

Well some of it maybe a bad thing, but I'm not making much of it. I wasn't as thrilled with 12 due to how different it felt, but I am in line for getting 13 when it comes out. FF13 isn't the only RPG coming to XBox almost unexpectedly... Tales of Vesperia is also coming to XBox, which marks a shift from the playstation. Aside from this, a couple of other RPGs I'm shooting for are not going to XBox (Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, Disgaea 3, Chrono Trigger DS!... there are others but they aren't coming to mind as easily) For 13, the cons might be focused on the story and gameplay instead of the console preferencing. Like I said, 12 had more of mixed bag when it came to gamer opinion (but not like say Final Fantasy 2 JPN way back in the day - and later imported on Gameboy Advance). Hopefully 13 will give the quality and content matching many of the greats when it comes to Final Fantasy (6, 7, 4, 10, Tactics). And actually you can start discussions on your favourite games, tv shows, projects and so forth.
