Cocker Spaniels getting unfair bad rap

Why don't people start thier baby doll cocker puppies grooming training early? Mine were started early and they are angels on the table. As a 25 yr groomer I am well aware of the bad actors out there. And after owning these lovely dogs for 5 yrs now i have figured out who to blame when a bad actor comes in the shop. Any ideas for those who may have a bad actor getting a bad rap?

I have never heard of cocker spaniels getting a bad rap, I thought they were just excitable dogs and no danger in the that area, any dog can bite or what ever but i have never really heard anything about the cockers...

Oh my these clients bring you a sweet little dog who's coat looks like a bad mattress in a homeless shelter who "should have probably been here sooner", and look out. You turn on your clippers and that sweet little dog turns into Cujo. Some, I have been able to bring out of it and some never get over thier fear it is so sad, and easily avoided by starting thier grooming lessons before they are a yr old. Most really don't know how much grooming a cocker needs, and the poor little dog pays for it. Not to mention the groomers fingers.
