Favorite Edgar Allan Poe story or poem?

The Tell Tale Heart is a good poem and very suspenseful if you ask me,but I would have to say that my favorite would be the Raven because that is a masterpiece and Edgar Allen Poe was a genius for writing it,and I will admit that it is a little long ,but it is well worth the time that it takes to read it from beginning to end,and I think everyone should read it at least once.

Yeah I agree it should definitely be part of the curriculum because it would help teaches students a lot,and I am sure that it would help them to like English literature because no one can not like Edgar Allen Poe because he is amazing when it comes to his writings,have a great day,good luck in your life,and Happy Posting my friend.

Agreed. Poe was a genius and The Raven is very much a literary masterpiece. I think Poe is and should be part of every Language Arts curriculum sometime throughtout your school years or various times throughout your school years.

i think Berenice is his best work. I loved everything about that story. And the characters are so profound and eccentric that i never stopped thinking about their names. I absolutely love Edgar Allan poe's works.

The Raven is good, rather long though. I love teaching The Tell-Tale Heart. I did it this pasts year around Halloween. We brought in Halloween music, fog, lighting and made a fun time out of it.

I haven't read everything by him yet. But my favorite so far is The Black Cat. I'm not sure why, but I just really really love that particular story!

My favorite is the eye of the beholder. When I first learned of this author,and had to read the story in English class, I was mesmorized at the story. I love the old time authors.

The Raven is my all time favorite - loved it since I was 10 years old. In fact I can still recall that time-space when I first read it and was fascinated by the beautiful cadence and rhythm of the verse. And such imagery!

I love the tell tale heart even though it makes him sound like a total psycho. It makes you wonder if poe actually committed murders while he was alive.

i love the black cat. it has a nice twist at the end that you didn't see coming. Of course the Raven is amazing. The tell tale heart is a perfect halloween story, even more so if you can play a heart beat sound in the background while you tell it.
