Do you keep quiet or you fight back?

What would you do when your superior scold you? Do you remain silent or you fight back ? I was wondering what would I do if this incident happened to me. Last week, one of my junior colleague was scolded by my superior. She gave back all the words scolded by our superior. Wow,I really could not imagine how angry my superior was at that moment. If for me,I don't think I have the courage to fight back. I think I will just keep quiet. How about you? Please share with me,thanks.

It depends if it's my fault...if it's my fault I'll just keep quiet but I feel that I didn't do anything wrong why should I keep silent...I'll reason out and explain myself..it's a case to case basis.
