Money is the root of EVIL...

I don't think so, because I believe that the ultimate goal of having money is to help others. The Bible say', "The love of the money is the root of all evil"(Timothy 6:10). It is from the love of the money makes evil springs. If the pursuit or possession of money makes you forget God, family and honor, that is bad. But money is not infested with evil. It is an object that can be put to good use or bad use. Allow me to reiterate: the ultimate goal of having money is to help others. The more money you have, the more people you can help.

I would say that the "lack" of money is the root of evil. people commit crimes because they need to survive, especially in third world countries. it's like eat or be eaten out there.

I agree with you that money is not the roots of all evil. It's the way we spent or use it that give it's label. How can an object be called evil? It has no life, the money has no life. Therefore it cannot do real harm to those who hold it.

I hear you about the money not being the root of evil. It says 'love of money'. Money is a tool just like fire, blades and cars, they can be used for used for good or evil. On this thought I have to share that I teach for a living and at the beginning of my economics prject I always ask the students if they think rich people are stuck up, mean and greedy. They will always answer yes. It is neat, as the lesson goes on, that the rich are the people who open up factories so people can have jobs, open store so people can buy what they need and open libraries/schools so people can better themselves! The world would be a better place if we all think about how we can serve the most amount of people like these rich people do!

Money is neither good or evil. It simply is. It is an inanimate object with no life. We label it good or bad. We use it with good or bad intentions. We hord it or share it. We work honestly for it or we steal to get it. It's the human element that determines which it is.

May I also add that money is what makes most people classify ones status in life as well. It is a shame that it comes to this but asome people only like money then worry about their happiness after that. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My dear hindichinese, how many persons that you know has money and help others willingly without looking for something else in return. The rich and mighty gives money because they know that if they don't contribute to charities then there will not be alot of customers. Yes you are right money is not infested with evil but it is the road of evil. If you are poor no one will tried and kill or maimed you, but once there is alot more than usual then the crime begins. Yes the bible talks alot about the evil of money but we will need to have to look at it in the different ways that evilness has evolved since having excessive of it.

In my opinion, money is not evil itself. It's just a kind of equivalente used by human being to exchange what they want. I would rather say that those who use money in a wrong way have brought money this negative impression.

Hey Friend... Money is no Evil as you say but I feel money is not God either. You can't worship money and run after it forgetting everything else like humanity, moral etc. One can buy luxury, happiness with money but money can't buy love, peace of mind. Truth lies beneath how to use the money in good or evil manner as you have already said. In today's world, no one can live without money, but to earn it it's not right to give away humanity, morality.

That is indeed a moral perspective-but you will agree with me that the absence of money spells even greater evil-I know of wonderful womn who have starved in their houses untl thy decided that they must sell their bodies to survve-I have also heard of Aid workers sexually exploiting starving girls from war torn areas of Africa like Darfur-so let us not overlook the evil that absence of money brings about-money is everything today in the world-the economies of the world is cash nexus-you could decide to stay away from money today because it is the root of all evils- swear you will be caught in the act of stealing food to survive the very next day, and stealing is obviously evil or is it not?

I'm so sorry for coming in so late. I think, in today's world money may not be everything but certainly without money, no one can survive. See the stories of deaths due to starvation (or without proper medication or without clean water or due to so many reasons) in various parts of the world, which are clearly due to poverty and not having any money. In fact, not having money is perhaps a bigger cause of evil than having money. The saying you have mentioned could have been true in the biblical times, when life was very simple and most of the necessary things required for survival, were freely available but not anymore. However, yes one should never be obsessive about money and should not use foul means to acquire the wealth. Further, if possible one should help others with his or her spare wealth.

Money isn't evil, nor the root of it. I'm glad that you included the whole scripture because a misquote is often seen as the real quote. If you use the wealth that God has blessed you with then you don't have to worry about money becoming your evil. Another scripture verse talks about serving two masters. You will either hate one and love the other, that's where money can become a master and you can't serve two of them.

hi friend i am agree with you but i would like to add one more points that not having sufficient knowledge about money is the root of evil . if you don't have enough money then you will have all trouble and if you have huge money then also you have trouble but at the same time if you have knowledge about how to play with money then you are on the top of the world.

I agree with you. Money is not always a root of evil. Money is a object. "Love of the money" is the root of all evil is Greed. People get killed because of it. They will do anything to have money in their hands or willing to give up their life for money that is a Greed. Also they do not care about other people who really need it. They need look up at God and trust in God. He will take care of people who need money. Money is a object similar to other idols. They are object unless it is worshiped by people then it become a love of object is evil. That's why Christian people call money as idol. If Money is used properly such as tithe, help others, and build success life legally, it is not evil.

Money can be the root of evil. It all depends on how a person would use it and be resourceful enough to make it grow. I have heard several cases that because of money, people can change their ways and do bad acts. Money is very important and without it, we can't live fully in this world.

Evil or not, like it or not its the way of the world. So whatch gonna do? We can't live without. No matter where you are in this world you need money or something of monetary value to live or survive. I do believe in charity however I believe in charity as a means of temporary assistance. So I don't believe necessarily that the more that I have is indicative of how much I have to give. If I give it all then I would be in the same position as those in need. I believe that the ultimate goal of money is first as a reward or payment of service rendered (job) and should be used to facilitate first my wants and needs as some portion devoted to aid those in need and savings.

hi friend, i think It just depends on our heart.I also don't think money is the root of the evil.AS long as we spend the money in the legal and useful point which benefits for a big part of people. This is the standard basis we should follow. So just keep a good and kind-hearted spirit in our mind,we will make a good use of the money to help the other people. have a good day.

For me the hand that holds the money is the evil not the money. Many people change because of money. Two thing will happen to you if you have money, stay good or you will become evil.
