I want to learn some new stuff, and i was wondering if people can reccomend anything such as any books or websites to help me learn javascript, how to put it to use, its purpose and whatnot. Anything would be useful, in-depth knowledge of it or just any general information. Thanks.

Try www.w3schools.com, they have "Try it out" examples so you can edit the code like in a sandbox. Whatever you do, try making things instead of reading to much, it will help you understand better and make errors less common.

Check this site http://javascript.internet.com/ they have excellent samples, how and why they did it that way even the other approach of doing things and with clear and detailed explanation. Maybe its a little bit old but their explanation are really very informative.
