What to do to attain excellence in all the things we do?

After graduation, all students will be lining up in almost hiring companies to get a job for experience and money. When I was at this stage of my life, I was asked the question "What to do to attain excellence in all the things you do?" I thought it was a joke for every one of us commit mistakes, but the interviewee told me that they want people who pushes themselves to the limit. They don't want to hire people whom they didn't even noticed because it achieved nothing. He has a point. Whats the use of hiring you if you will be no use to the company.
For the moment, I will keep my answer. I wish to hear experiences and ideas how to attain such excellence...or nearly excellent output/results in whatever we do. Thank you!

life is so short to waste every moment not to do things whole heartedly.. if you really like what you are doing, I believe that the excellence comes to it.. you should make all things that will make you happy. always explore, so that you will always learn somethings new.

Life is a never ending learning thing, so as our job. To keep me reach the goal and attain excellence, I learn and learn and learn. Learning can be from reading and hearing. Read books and attend some seminars you can hear and learn new things or in line with the job. That will be aside from being a hardworking, honest and industrious person. KEEP SMILING = NEIL

Hi leateagee,
That a very good subject, sometime interviewee should take notice of those people they ignore as there will someone who would like to have an opportunity to achive goals, so how can they achive when they were not gaven a chane, most interviewee looks at people who are good looking and choose them.

I believe it takes talent and heart to do excellent things, though there are some people that can naturally be excellent in some tasks. But most dedication and hard work leads to a good result, so if you strive for excellence you should definitely be dedicated.
