Mis-diagnosed?

During the time I was breasfeeding one of my children I experienced some pain and inflamation so I went to see my doctor taking the baby with me. After he examined both of us he told me that the baby had thrush in his mouth and I had an infection on my breast due to a blocked milk duct. I asked him if it was possible I had thrush on my breast but he all but laughed at me and said it wasn't possible then handed me a prescription for antibiotics. This bothered me so I contacted my health visitor who told me to come and get some cream from her which would sort the problem out. She told me that under no circumstances was I to take the antibiotics as it would irritate the problem more. She said that of course it was thrush, the baby clearly had it in his mouth as the white spots were very apparant and we had obviously been passing the it to and fro each other. The cream helped and the problem was resolved relatively quickly after starting the treatment. I felt lucky that I did not take the advice of the doctor as this could have resulted in weeks of much discomfort and pain. Have you ever been mis-diagnosed? Did it change your life? Have you ever taken someone to court over a mis-diagnosis

When i was younger, i had the family doc i have now, and i was a pretty depressed teenager, for a few reasons. He refused to give me medications, and decided i wasn't medically depressed and i just had to suck it up for the most part.. I went to a different doctor for mental stuff and i continued to go to him for physical. Wonder if they ever spoke to eachother about me.. lol he's been my doc since i was born..
