Alone and afraid: What do you do when life closes in?

Everyone have times when they feel powerless and alone. Life, with all its color, can be a cruel mistress in times like these. What do you do then? Do you ask the Gods for a miracle? Do you walk tall and go down fighting? Or do you run?

I will face it.. Because there's no point in running away from it as te problem is not solved.. We can run away once but not forever.. Since that's the case, might as well settle the problem once and for all to shorten to pain..

Heh, that's truth, running away never seem to solve the problem

Yeah.. Running away is only temporary, and only pray hard for it not to come back again, in a more disaterous way.. lol

goonies never surrender goonies never say die theres plenty of times when faced with the flight/fight situations where i prolly shouldve fled and stood steadfast. warrior nature? instinct? stupidity? not to say i dont fall down the same as everyone else.. but i dont tend to stay there for long. do i ask the gods? everyday for one thing or the other.. not just when in turmoil

Damn, I loved that movie! I'm not as tough as you are, sometimes I take a little too long to get up, sometimes run a little too far... At less I have never failed to get up or came back so far. I think I whine a little too much to the gods, keep getting this feeling that my calls are getting 'transferred to voice mail'

i dont think of it as "tough" its necessity. if i laid down and didnt pick my head back up.. who would do the things that are necessary to be done? we all at time need to just seclude and withdraw.. the important thing is that you do indeed pick yer head back up.. dust off yer butt.. and get back in the game.

Yes to all three...lol But now I'll pick up the phone and call family or friends and chit chat for awhile. Sometimes I will get myself so busy in something to where I don't think about it until the feeling passes.

Heh, yes to all three too! I don't like to talk to family and friends though, most of the time it just makes things worse some how. Computer games are my "break in case of overload", I'll play something mindless and let the feeling pass.

This subject is all I know! For sometime I've felt so alone in my life. Even though i have people that love me. Im not religous at all, but I found a prayer everynight helps take the ease off. If I'm feeling really down I curl up in my boyfriends lap and hold him tight. It makes me feel like I'm not alone. But the most help I get from is hugging my little dog. She has the most unconditional love for me and hugging her makes me feel so safe. Im not the type to walk tall and go down fighting, so i guess i would be in the running away catagory. But most recently i got tired of running away. . . so now im trying my hardest to walk tall and fight.

I'm religious in my own way, but I don't subscript to a believe where praying really helps much... Ya, sucks, I know. When I can, I stand tall and fight back, but there are times when I run too.
