washing clothes is a real misery for me. our house help for 2 years seems never to learn.no matter how i teach her how to wash our clothes properly, how much detergent and softener to use,how to hang...she never seems to learn. although,i think the problem runs in her family.her mom was with us,her sister too. no,we are not enslaving them...nonono. Her parents, are the caretaker of our farm.we encouraged to finish school.with aids from us of course.but the 7 children just dropped out from school one after the other.in order to earn,we hired them.the girls as maids, the boys as gardeners.the mom,the sister, and she could not or maybe will not wash our clothes properly. anyway, almost half my my husbands expensive shirts have white patches because of chlorine used when our house help is prohibited to use chlorine on clothes.now the shirts are useless and i could not buy chlorine anymore intended to disinfect the comfort rooms, sinks and garage or else all of our clothes will have white patches.one time,i caught her stuffing in the washing machine an expensive blouse together with a pair of denim pants, several shorts, socks and a big beach towel.i felt i was going to faint.my husband told me to have more patience because the maid has a "slow brain"..a slow brain?when her clothes are all clean, soft, hung with hangers, pressed and smell good, ours? never mind... i know you'll say why not wash the clothes myself...then id have to let the maid go...thats one of her duties.why shes being paid.we Filipinos are very particular with clothes washing. whites goes with whites.colored with colored--yes all races do this.except my maid.the white ones are to be put under the heat of the sun with soap and water to maintain the whiteness before washing with hand.not machine wash. delicate and expensive clothes,i will not allow to be machine washed.lacoste, dockers, mango, and the like brands are bought as having been worked hard for...to have white patches from chlorine is like one shredded huge amounts of money.

Hello Ching... that is awful. I applauded your family for helping your maids family. But if she will only ruin things she better go. She must learn to take her duties seriously. I got furios reading your post. She is not a good house keeper. So better find somebody else if she's not ready to learn the way you want things to be.

tnx.that is actually what we've been told.the maid causes so much stress.i got tired of talking so i write things for her.unfortunately,we cant let her go...her parents could not afford to have them with them.food for everyone will be a problem even if they have food ration from us.if i let her go,she will never learn.i told her,if she will not learn anything, she will not be able to marry a decent person.their children will end up as maids as well...
