'The Secret' was a big hit in Singapore some months back. It talks about the law of attraction and how if we practice what the book preach, we would all achieve what we want in life. Basically the book states that all of us must practice 3 things regularly in order for us to achieve success:
1. Think about what we want, visualise.
2. Ask from the universe for what we want. Treat the universe as a catalogue and we could pick what we want from it.
3. Receive what the universe has to give to us.
Personally, I feel that 'the secret' is oversimplified and overhyped. There is better authors than the one who wrote this book. (Think the science of getting rich and law of attraction). It is some sort like the motivational books that we see everyday, and by practicing what the book says, of course we would achieve success as we change our behaviour together with our mindsets.
What do you guys think of this book / movie? Do you think that it is some sort of overhyped subject or does it really happened? Share your experiences. =)

I have to admit that I haven't read the book entitled 'The Secret' nor watched the movie with the same title. And I was about to pass this discussion for other mylotters to respond when I discovered that there were other similar discussions started by other people here.
But eventhough I haven't been able to get a glimpse of these two (book and movie), I have been believing this and trying to practice these 'doctrines' in my life. In fact, I've mentioned about this "ask the universe for what we want in our lives" in several of the discussions here in mylot. No offense meant to you or to others who have a different perspective on this.
Honestly, I find that sometimes, some of our wishes do happen when we least expect them to. More often, we either forgot that we wished for them sometime in the past or that a Greater force is doing everything to grant our wish.
Anyway, I'm going to list this in my personal list of the things-to-buy so that when our funds become substantial (hopefully, in the soonest possible time), I'll be able to buy this book or buy a DVD copy of the movie. If I may add, I'd want to have a mini library in our future conjugal house.
