I know that all medications have side effects. I guess it is important to decide what we can and can not handle. I take Albuterol among others and I know that without it, I could find myself in a lot of trouble. So since I have learned that this kind of medicine can cause significant bone loss, I will do all I can to combat that, without giving up the meds that I need. Did you already know this? If not, what do you think of it? http://www.everydayhealth.com/publicsite/index.aspx?puid=a7578099-57fb-492c-bdb4-1e11e0d4844a&p=2&xid=nl_EverydayHealthAsthmaandAllergies_20080723

I also have read that one of the side effect of asthma meds is a weaker bones. Do you think taking calcium supplements would help?

Ask your doctor what he recommends. Each individual case is different.

I am sorry sweetie. Perhaps you can have the very knowledgable pharmacist break it down to you. I suddenly don't feel as bright as I did before responding to the first poster.
