My hubbys boss gave us tickets to the baseball game. The game was last night. We had a good time. But We had 2 hot dogs and split a soda. Then my hubby had a brautwurst. That cost about $20. With prices like these would you have brought your own snacks to the ball game?

With the prices of today and things being so high I would have brought my own snacks..maybe not as good but filling. Or eat right before or soon after. It was nice of your husbands boss to give you tickets for the game. Who were the teams playing? I once went to a baseball game it was the Pirates verses the Red Sox in Ohio. It was cool espeically for a 14 year old.

Here in Houston we have one huge conglomo company called Aramark that manages the food sales at ALL of our sporting events - baseball, basketball, football, conventions, trade shows, etc. They charge about $5-6 for a regular hot dog, $4 for a bottle of water, and $2 for a chocolate chip cookie! If you sneak snacks into your event, put them in your pocket, as for "Security" purposes, they check large and small handbags, backpacks, etc. A decent idea is to eat before you go to your event, and just buy water, if anything, there.

I'm afraid that is the new normal for food at sporting events, concerts, etc. I don't see how a family with several kids can afford to go and let kids all get something like a coke and snack--let alone buying hot dogs and hamburgers too. It's crazy!

That's outrageous! And that's when global inflation is becoming such a concern..

I would have eaten before I went to the game. I would not be paying $5 for a hot dog no matter how good it was, and I am guessing that the ball park ones were not that great.

$5 for a hot dog,Oh gosh thats alot. The same thing when you buy stuff at a airport though vendors always jack up their prices.I would have definitely snuck in my own food.I did that at the movies once and got caught, lol.Oh well at least you know for the next time.

It is kinda sad that they have to jack the prices up on the foo like that at the games and even in the movies. When I go to games or the races I will take in my own sunflower seeds to munch on but I don't take in food. You know like sandwiches and stuff because well you go to baseball to have a hotdog and such. But snacks ya I take a big purse and load it down. Sometimes even take my own snacks to the movie. Because in the movie one box of junior mints is 3.50 and can get the same size outside the movie for $1.00. I don't know why peeps think they need to jack the prices up so high.

That's understandably expensive. Well, it has become normal nowadays that prices are soaring higher and higher. That may be a terrible case but it's hard to stop that because it's a global phenomenon. So, in my case, I'll probably bring some snacks.

Normally we will eat before or after the game, and just get a drink while we are there. I'm usually too busy taking pictures to care to eat anything lol. And I'll be taking lots of pictures at the next baseball game I go to in August. My s/o will be pitching out the opening pitch for that game! I'm really excited about it and can't wait to get lots of pictures, since he has to wear his uniform when he does it (no, he's not military). It is absurd how much they charge for drinks, food, and snacks at sporting events. We went to a hockey game last year, a order of nachos and a medium drink was almost $10.

It's been years since I've been to a ballgame, and I used to blow about $40 a night, everytime I went. That was just on me and my son. Well, interesting you should start this discussion, because my husband also got some free baseball tickets for our family. It is for next wednesday. We thought it would be nice to go, but perhaps we will save money and not bother. The cost of parking alone is about $10.
