Companies that do not stand behind their product!

I have a HP printer and have had it for six months. It does everything. It scans, copies, prints photos. When I went to use it yesterday the darn thing will not even turn on. Yes it is plugged in and hooked up right. Well I really need to print my school work so I called HP and they said they could fix the problem but it will cost me $69 dollars. I argued with her and got no where and told her to send me a big box to send all my Hp products back. So she is. The printer is useless to me. Well anyway I payed 250 dollars for the thing I do not think I should have to pay another 69 dollars to fix it. They should stand behind their product and fix it for free. What is the use in having a warranty if they do not fix it. This is all after the fact of when I bought it and got it home that you had to have the factory ink to program it and it was never in the box. So then I had to fight with them to give me the ink just so I could use it to start. Has a company ever done this to you? Microsoft never gave me a hard time when I had to send my sons xbox back. They just replaced it. frustrated.Do you think companies should stand behind their products?

One word...GREED. Companies don't stand behind their products anymore. They want you to buy a warranty that only covers a few possible problems. Everything is about making more money. I hate to sound super old or anything but I can remember when products were built to last a lifetime. Now they come with a lifetime expectancy telling you to be prepared to buy another one in a few years.

This is not a few years, it is only six months old. It sat in the box for two monthes because all the parts were not there. I had to fight to get the parts to use the dang thing one. That only took to months. when you buy something everything should be in the box so you can use it. so frustrating! I'll buy a new one.

companies should stand behind their products report your case in case you are satisfied or felt like they didn't deliver the satisfaction in you you may report them at your consumer welfare desk... but sad to say in reality you can only count a few company who does stand in their respective products... business more concern in more income than customer satisfaction =/

I have also had the same issue with HP here in my country so I thought its their agents down here who are misusing the warranty thing........Infact they have unexperienced engineers, they come and spoil everything instead of mending then they end up asking for service charges.........I hate such companies. They only company that has served me satisfactorily is only Nokia and LG, I have not had a rough time with the two. But with HP, I think someone should come up with very strong competition and thraw them out of business....what is the use of that one year warranty thing if they start chargin you at only 6 months? Am sorry for you friend.

I have talked to every superviser this morning and am not any father then when I started. I am going to send all their junk back because it is useless to me and go buy a different brand. Anyone recommend any?

Almost as frustrating as internet companies. If you have AOL, you will never actually speak to an actual person. Have you noticed you can't find anywhere on the web how to cancel an AOL account? Well I have long since stopped using AOL, and now I have Verizon. Let me tell you it's not a whole lot better. I have been having connection problems. I have DSL and when my phone rings, I get disconnected from the internet. So I called Verizon, and they told me it's the phone companies problem. I said "Guess what? You ARE my phone company, so it's still your problem!" Needless to say, I still have the problem and nobody has fixed it.

i sure do. fingerhut sold me a emerson stereo system years ago. for a month it recorded. this is back when cassette tapes were popular. then it quit recording. they said they'd contact the company and then had us take it to a shop. we paid the bill and they was supposed to repay us. they never did! worst of all, after 2 more months it quit again!

Oh gods, this sounds just like certain phone companies that my parents have had to deal with. They say they will do one thing and then they turn around and do another. Then they give the excuse that their employees weren't all on the same page and that the real truth was what the most recent person had just dictated. Customer service can be an utter nightmare (on both sides, I suppose) at times.

Sad to hear that the after sales service is lacking even in reputed companies like HP.. and this worries me now.. as i have a HP Computer. It wonders me what is the use of giving the warranty to these products? But why do you write to the customer care or the grievance cell..quoting the product number, key number.. date of purchase etc.. If i were in your shoes, i would allow the sales man to have good night sleep..

My husband and I own a small business since 1990. We would not be in business today if we did not honor our warranty. As for HP, I don't like them, never did. I have a few HP products from a long time ago and they are still working. I had to deal with them for a friends computer...gggrrrr. I am a dell fan. I have been buying dell products for a while now. Their service is exceptional! They go beyond the realms of warranty for their customers.
