Why do parents give their children ridiculous names?

A New Zealand judge has made a 9-year-old girl a ward of the court so that her name can be changed from Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii, the country's national news agency reported Thursda.
Who in their right mind would do this to a kid? If you want your child to get beaten up every day of his/her life....go ahead. What is the weirdest name you've heard for a child?

Hey Bonbon,
I seriously lol'ed when hearing that name.
You'll notice that a lot of the crazy names come from the Hollywood scene - Jermajesty, Apple, Phinneaus, Harlow, etc. are just some of the baby names - you wonder if all the paparazzi flash bulbs get to the heads of these "stars."
It actually looks like a trend. Why? I have NO idea. But a trend nonetheless.

Put a 'wanna'in front of my own last name and I'd get bleeped, censored and slapped upside the head! LOL No kidding. My real last name when pronounced phonetically is really quite rude!
