Today, my colleague showed me the result of a survey which makes me a little, just a little disturbing. They asked 30 students comment on my class anonymously. 28 of them gave me full marks or almost full marks, but one of them gave me an extremely low mark and i know it was unfair cause he/ she complained my pace of teaching too slow.! I swear to god, this is the first time during my 8-year teaching to hear someone say i am slow ! , in a word, he/ she was dissatisfied with one aspect of me and therefore ticked all the items low marks! One thing he/she didn't realize was that as a teacher, you have to make sure majority of the students can follow you, esp. stuents with poor foundation. All right, in this case, i won't change anything cause i care more about most of them instead of focusing one or two of them. DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE? don't hesitate to tell me your opinion. Thank you!

My philosophy on this and in similar conditions is exactly like your subject - You will never make everyone happy. I am in the military and when I have a section of people to look after, I do my best with consideration to all of them. But there is always one or two that don't think they are being treated fairly because they did not like one of my decisions. I fall back to the majority which says that they will work for me anywhere. Stick to what you are doing - a teacher that is well liked by 93% of her class gets top marks in my book.

Thank you for your couragement. I've always been confident about my teaching method and teaching quality until i came to this school. yes, i will stick to what i think is right cause i know study effect is the best proof. sooner or later most of them will realize that, and i should not expect all people like me, cause i am not sb's type. thank you, good day.

If the student is bored in your class (which can happen with someone with above average intelligence)I can see where he/she would complain about your teaching being slow. But I agree with you, you have a class full of students and must be sure the MAJORITY of them can learn. I wouldn't take that personally, even though it was the teacher they were evaluating. Surely your supervisor will recognize that the majority of your students are happy with you. Unfortunately young people with high intellect do not tend to take responsibility for their own life and blame others for everything. Hopefully the school will learn who the student is, because he/she needs to be in an advanced class if one is available. If not, hopefully this student is not disruptive in class because of boredom.

To get the most benefit , the school will not assign a special class for certain students. People have to learn to adapt, in my class, there are people ranging from 13-53, students, clerks, with different study goals and foundations. As long as i know i am doing the right thing, for the good of them, i won't compromise to change my style , or 90% of them will complain . Tnank you, enjoy your day.
