Rumors about Izzy dying from a brain tumor are total GENIUS! I was all prepared to be down on it, it didn't seem fitting, but then a thought came to me. This is total brilliance, and generous on the part of ABC. I would assume that depending on Katherine's choice of what she wants to do, this is a perfect way to either kill her or keep her. After all, Derek and Meredith just found the cure in the last episode right? They could in fact go either way.

i was just talking about that in another discussion the other day with someone. she said that izzy was going to die of a brain tumor. i said well if they decide not to fire her then they could still have her get a brain tumor and if she stays under contract then mere and dere could save her with their new cure. i don't think they will fire her. i think it would be stupid, they would lose one of their best characters.

I think her comments are getting misconstrued. I think she didn't mean it the way the media is making out she did. I believe that she thinks her part wasn't worthy. As in she didn't have as much of a part as the others did, so why should she be honored. I don't think it was a diss to ABC writers at all.

the writer made a comment already regarding izzie's light role last episode. she said that it was izzie who asked for it so that she could have time also in her movie acting and they talk about it before hand. i read this in the paper a couple of days ago, and i thought this was solve already and next season would be running smoothly then. but then, nobody knows what really would happen until they starts airing the first episode of season 5 by september.

That is why I said it was a rumor. You never know with rumors whether they are true or false.

that's interesting to know but very nice way of letting go, just like what they did to burke. what i only heard from news that izzie is not satisfied with her role last season that's why she made a comment regarding it with that, grey's writer made a response regarding this matter and i just thought it's finished already. she said that it was izzie who ask her to give her a light role so that she could concentrate on her movies. i also read from newspaper a couple of days ago, that everything is fine right now and would be running smoothly when the next season starts on fall 08.
with ragards to mer-der, i thought the last episode they would be together. i believe that derek went away to end things up with rose and i think that's what he said in that episode? but yeah, things might change, who knows and we all knew that there are so many episodes in the previous seasons that has so much twist also. just like izzie and george and the list goes on..

Yes, Derek did go to end things with Rose. I guess it is all up to a wait and see attitude.

Brilliant!! I didn't even think about how Derek and Meredith found the crue for a brain tumor. I would be a great story line! I love Izzy and hopefully she stays on the show. Can't wait for the new season to start.

I am not much of an Izzy fan. Not since she was locked in the supply closet with Alex and told him she didn't want him with anyone else... Yet just an hour or so before she told George she loved him. I thought it was selfish of her. And I haven't much cared for her since. Just my 2 cents.

I think...that they threw out the rumor to see what the public had to say. She's been very outspoken and ABC isn't sure what to do with her now. So they throw the rumor out that they're killing off her character...if enough people agree, they'll dump her. If enough people argue to keep her, they will keep her on the show.
I do know that one of the producers said that Izzy is her favorite character. She is a head honcho so I would imagine that if she didn't want Izzy off, Izzy would stay.
OR! They could just be throwing this rumor out there in order to get more people to watch the show!
