How long would you let your kid leave for?

My sister’s friend just moved to Arkansas and my sister wants to take my son with her to visit for about a week maybe longer. School starts in a few weeks and he has not really had much fun this summer, so I am thinking of letting him go. I think he will be fine being gone for about a week. How long would you let someone else take your kid for?

Your son is old enough to where he would have a good time. A week is a good amount of time. I would let him go.

I just talked to her and it will probably be 4 or 5 days.

How old is your son? I think it would depend on the age of my kids and who was taking them. If it were my sister I probably wouldn't let her take my kids out of town, let alone out of state! If someone I trusted with my kids life was going somewhere, I would say I probably could let them go for a few days right now, but my oldest is only 5. I think a week is not bad as long as you totally have faith in your sister taking him and caring for him. As long as you feel comfortable with it, any amount of time is fine.

He is 8 years old. I think that my sister is a pretty responsible person when it comes to the kids.

Sure, My son has gone away with his aunt and grandparents before. They went to the beach for a week. Everything was fine....especially the peace and quiet here at home. Lol!
