I receive Charter Expanded Basic. Now they have taken away 5 more stations saying we now have to get a digital converter box if we want to receive them. However, they did not lower the price. We now get fewer stations but paying the same price for them. Plus we have to pay $5 more for each digital converter box we need. Does that seem fair?

I worked for Charter before. I did not work directly instead I called on behalf of Charter. As far as I know, there's a government mandate that by Feb 2009 all of the television programming in the US should be digital. And Charter is taking advantage of this mandate. They're giving the digital box in a lower price of $5 coz if you purchase it in the market it will cost you a lot. In lieu of this, they come up with different promotions in different areas. Prices varies depending on your area. As far as I know, regarding the channels, some channels are not available in some areas. But, we were told that if the customer complains about some channels being reduced, we are directed to say that due to the continuous improvements we're doing for Charter customers, some of the channels may npt be available at the time of improvements but it will be later. I just don't know if it's true.
