One of my clients mentioned a few months back that she loved Nabisco's Royal Lunch Milk Crackers. She was dismayed that she had been unable to find them. I did look for them whenever I went shopping. Going online, I found that these wonderful crackers were no longer being made by Nabisco. When I told my 94-year old client she was disappointed. On Monday I went shopping for another client at a supermarket that I never shop at. I found a milk biscuit that looked similar to the Royal Lunch Milk Crackers. It was a bit expensive, $4.49 for the box. The name brand is "Mrs. Alison's Milk Lunch New England Biscuits." These biscuits are the closest thing I had found to the milk crackers. I purchased them for my client. I thought to myself that if she didn't want them I would bring them home. She wasn't feeling well today. Tummy was upset over what she believed was the orange juice she drank for breakfast. Her mind is a little mixed up and she thought the juice was bad because of something she heard on the television. This report was something she told me about last year. I sighed because this is the norm for her. Dementia is cruel. She wasn't going to eat anything, but I convinced her to have a few of the crackers and a nice cup of tea. She agreed to the light lunch. The crackers she told me tasted much better than the Royal Lunch Milk Crackers. She thanked me again for purchasing them for her. She paid me for the crackers, although she was surprised they cost so much. She did say that at her age if she wanted to spend more money on something she liked she should be able to do so. If you are looking for a replacement for the much enjoyed milk crackers give "Mrs. Alison's Milk Lunch New England Biscuits" a try. They are made in Canada for the Archway company. I found them a the local Stop and Shop.

I have never seen those, but I find Archway makes good cookies. They are a brand that I have never had a bad bag of cookies, I like their ginger snaps.

I do remember these but had forgotten all about them...they were not a favorite of mine but we always seemed to have them in the house growing up. If I was really hungry i'd put peanut butter on them. they were so bland. I kind of remember my mom putting them in milk with blueberries??? I was really young the last time I saw those...can still remember the purple bos. haven't seen them in years.
