Today I heard on the news that cell phones can cause cancer.I remember when it was a microwave oven, then a computer, meat cooked on an iron skillet. When I was growing up and learning how to cook it was cooking in an iron skillet was healthy for you. What I want to know is then, before cell phones, microwaves and computer were on this earth, then what caused cancer with all those other people before that?

I believe the microwave and computers are safer today. I had never heard that it was bad to cook meat in an iron skillet. I use an iron skillet all the time! I always thought they were good for you. I know aluminum cookware isn't good for you. As for the cell phones causing cancer, I don't think they have a real answer. Otherwise, they may pull them all. It won't ever happen. There are so many things that are bad for us for awhile. Then, one day, they say they are okay. Sort of like the tomato scare this summer. Now, after the farmers have lost lots of money over their crops of tomatoes, the tomatoes aren't the cause of the salmonella scare! I often think perhaps they run out of something to do so they hunt something to scare us with! I believe it is all in who you talk with whether they are bad or not.

I know they are always doing that, saying someting is bad for you or the enviroment. Then a year,5 or 10 say that say that were wrong.Like now they say it was peppers not tomatoes. Not only have the farmers lost money, but the grocers and restaurants.

Thats a darn good question! I think they are just trying to scare people. I for one don't pay attention to all this hype. I think its all in your body makeup - maybe your genes - that makes a person prone to cancer. If all these things cause cancer then why doesn't everybody have it? If I want to talk on a cell phone while I'm cooking my steak in an iron skillet and heating something up in the microwave and typing on the computer all at the same time then I'll take my chances! Like you said people had cancer way before this stuff was ever invented, so GIVE ME A BREAK!

Cell Phones - Cell phones cause cancer?
Here is an article for you if you would like to read on it. http://www.livescience.com/health/080729-bad-cell-phones.html But yes like you been hearing since was a kid that this or that causes cancer. I think it is because it is a new item people don't know very much about it so oooh lets say this or that then later it has to be retracted and say it is okay.

If that's true, 24M Filipino now have cancers. Because every single Filipino have a cellphone, most have two cellphones.

i'm sure for some people it does. and that is horrible , i feel sorry for them. but there are other tests that don't support the claim that cell phones cause cancer. it's like a lot of things. individual results vary.

I've heard that many times though there's no sustantial evidence supporting that.A lot of factors can contribute to cancer.A lot of products are carcinogenic. They say grilled food is carcinogenic and processed food causes cancer too.I've used mobile phones for the past 15 years and luckily I'm still cancer-free.Our lifestyle plays an important role. These days, cancer is no longer rare.It can be acquired in a myriad of ways. So, it's best to live life to the fullest in the healthiest way you know.

Now adays everything causes cancer. Our society, the way we live, the pollution we breathe, the chemicals we put in and on our food, the chemicals we use. Everything causes cancer. I am sure that there was some cancers way back when but not like now. We are doing it to ourselves, even if we do our best to live healthy, we are exposed to it all.

It seems that the jury is still out on this one. The evidence may prove to be true in about ten years. So, in the meantime, I don't thinki t would be a bad idea to use it less.

I think it is a scare tactic. If you want to control the use of cell phones, then start a rumor or give unproven information as to what diseases do you get through using cell phones. Then after a time, tell what you can do to prevent it other than people saying "I am not going to get a cellphone." Do you know that if you use bluetooth, you will not get cancer because the phone will be away from your body? Those bluetooth headphones costs at least $40. So by scaring people, people will say that they can afford a cellphone, but with the headphone on it, they cannot afford that.

I think if people study it enough, anything and everything causes cancer. Even the air we breathe can cause cancer with all the pollutants in the air. I've even heard plastic can cause cancer. My belief is that if your predispositioned to have cancer you will get it.

I also heard this news this morning, but i am not surprised. You know there is a lot of report about microwave oven and computer could cause cancer. People still use. I cant image what the life would be if there is no computer or cell phone in my life. I think it means if you use the cell phone to talk for a long time it mybe be bad for your head.

maybe cell phones cause cancer. once my friend told me to use the cell phone for your left ear. he said it is safe more than using cell phone for right ear.. maybe it is true. usually i am using left hand , so before he told me that also i use my left ear to answer or to call by cell phone..

they don't know what causes cancer. i know it's ot iron skillets, been usuing them as long as i have been cooking & that's been a long time.instead of coming out w/all this speculation & hurting pople's buisness they should heep thir speculations quiet till they know for sure what they are talking about.

yes they cause serious damage . the spread of radiations ( electro magnetic waves) creates more difficulties.

I don't believe that. As if people are telling that almost everything now can cause cancer. Maybe it depends upon how you use these things. Everything is dangerous if you are not using it properly. There are certain ways on how to use things and what we ought to do is jut to follow the instructions or the directions for that certain things we have and we are safe.
