February 14, 2007, i with five of my co-NCLEX RN examinees now good friends were dinning in a local eatery in saipan (commonwealth of northern mariana islands). it was valentines day and our last among our five days of stay in the said place. we were heading to the airport back to the Philippines in less than six hours. we decided to take a heavy lunch since we were afraid that we might get starved in the plane before dinner will be served. and so our group thought of taking all the coins out(dollar cents)from our purses knowing that we cannot anymore exchange them when we reached Philippines. we did collect them all to come up payment for lunch. we did not know that a family (of 3 members) on the next table was watching us counting the coin bills. a generous Filipino born (the father) now a resident and a citizen of that place approached us with a $10 bill that he put directly in our table. at that moment we felt ashamed and laughed about the incident. our actions were misunderstood as explained by the generous stranger. he thought we had nothing to eat that he took a $10 bill off his wallet. we then explained the real reason why we wanted to use our coins. all the people inside the eatery were all laughing at us. it was embarrassing yet we proved one thing, good things are just meant come to come unexpectedly. LOL.
