Different problems I have faced with my small computer setup for running my home based entrepreneurship... and this obviously includes a hard drive crash. My friend, co-worker and crisis manager came into rescue as that disk would contain my important notes and observation on different stores I monitor daily. Besides it would contain my personal video collection, family photos including photos/videos of my father, who is no more with us in this world. I was shocked, I was looking clueless, thank God he recovered the data stored in the drive by replacing the platter. But afterwards I have never failed to back up my data in DVDs - this is the best method I can think of. I back it up once in a week for updated data and make a full back up each month. All my archived data are indexed and saved in DVD chronologically , in case something goes wrong again, all I need to do is to restore the backed up data. Regarding backing up data, I create zip file of all the drives, and burn DVDs to store them. It takes a long time considering the volume of data I have, but no way out - I have to do that.
