This is actually more of a plea than a discussion, but please feel free to respond with any addition information you might be able to add.
Please - whenever you encounter a scam of any kind, whether by email or involving paid to programs - any kind of illegal activity - report it to the proper authorities.
If you encounter "paid to" scams, please report them to http://www.gptboycott.com/ - you can also visit this site to check whether a program is legitimate before you join.
Remember that whenever you have paid for something through Paypal, you can go back and file a complaint and/or file a claim against anyone that you have purchased goods from or paid money to. I recently filed such a claim against a PTC site to whom I had paid a fee for an upgrade, but who failed to provide the services outlined in the upgrade when they didn't pay me my earnings - I was able to recoup my entire payment.
For other types of consumer fraud - including internet fraud of any kind - try this site: http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/ - where you can look for scams that have been uncovered or report those you have experienced. There are many links to various national and international sources you can use to pursue action against fraudulent sites and/or businesses.
Unless we, as consumers, take the time and effort to report these crooks, people will continue to be taken by them and more will pop up because they know they can get buy with their illegal activity.
I would also like to ask those who post here wanting referrals - please do not ask people here to join programs that you have just joined and do not know whether or not they pay or are legitimate programs. The myLot posters are a social community, and we trust other posters not to lead us to join sites that are not legitimate.

I think you raise very pertinent issues here, unless we deal with these crooks, our efforts of harnessing the internet will be futile

The authorities can only deal with the scams that they know about - if we don't report them, they have no way of knowing - especially since there are thousands of them out there stalking consumers.
I also encourage everyone to do the same with unscrupulous businesses that they deal with in their community - reporting them to law enforcement authorities if they are operating illegally, or to the Better Business Bureau if they are not doing business in a satisfactory manner.

Scams need collective efforts and I really want to completely agree with you-I have suffered many such scams, and the one that comes immediately to my mind is AWsurvey, they just to be completely brought to books. I also think Agloco is scam!

I know there are good sites out there, but there are so many bad ones that it's hard to sort them out. Those of us who have encountered them need to do everything possible to warn others and to make life miserable for the ones that are crooked.

Thank you very much for your support. I believe it will benefit all of us if we become more vigilant.

Thanks for sharing it. I think I need this information and have something to report with these sites.
I was scammed last month and the site is still operational since they have a good strategy to attract their client.
